I have just got back from Paris, as had tickets for the opening game, the atmosphere was excellent, I didn't see any real problems, apart from the state of the Metro over there, thought we had overcrowding on the tubes, this was to a complete different level.

The only time there was an issue, when a group of about 6 england fans got on the Metro, when we got to the stop for the stadium, there were trying to stop people getting off, by blocking the door, yelled at one of them to wise up, and luckily that was it, but the atmosphere certainly soured when they got on, and you could hear the mutterings around the carriage.

Other then that, had an amazing time, watched the England game in a bar, and it was all good spirits, although we got mocked when they equalized, the rest of the time there was fantastic and wish I could of stayed for the rest of the week.

Lets see. Young men. Alcohol. National Pride. Lets put them all together in a relatively confined space and see what happens.
Exactly spot on. Just like the Rugby. & Cricket. & the Olympics ... & Wimbledon - proper messy that ...

No .. Wait ...

My only Barmy Army tour was in NZ in 2002 and it was carnage, people were so spannered that they were being put on flatbed trollies and wheeled out of the Basin Reserve!
All very jovial and loud but not one act of violence.
It's a football problem and quite clearly not just an English one either.

Exactly. Back when I was growing up & Zim could play cricket we lived it when England & the Barmy Army came over. Epicly drunken & funny times but never even the slightest hint of a problem

Brits like a drink - sure. But this violence abroad is very much a football disease, not 'the English disease' as someone once dubbed it

All this trouble may be a symptom of the economic and civil troubles across Europe; I guess we'll have to see.

But VICE did a short piece on the far-right hooligans in Germany, who protested against Islamist movements 19 months ago.

The civil unrest in Europe has only gotten worse since.

I don't know but I gave it a funny just because of the 2 dopey looking fellas in the front. Does anything say that " I'm a fucking moron" more than one of those hats?

One of whom could be Lamela

Hmmm... We'll be running out of teams soon, if England, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Northern Ireland and France are to be kicked out... Iceland - a dark horse for European champions?
