Not suited to our play, eh? Weird. You know whose style of play is exactly like Mauricio's? Jurgen Klopp. You know who Goetze's best years so far were under? Jurgen Klopp. Next.

That was before he spent 2 years eating pies and developing an ego the size of jupiter.

It's not uncommon for established 'superstars' to not be able to work with system managers

When dele played cm at the start of last season alongside dier we did not lose a single game and (i stand to be corrected here) he scored hes first for us and im not sure on this but we barely even conceeded all the time he was there
Bentelab is about 75 miles off replacing dembele going on he's last few showings mason has very little defensive acumen if any

Thats not a pop at either of them i hope they both turn in to world beaters but at the moment neither are as good as alli in either cm or am (just my opinion).

Bentaleb played a whole season as arguably our best cm when Poch first arrived. He was pivotal to some of our best performances that season as well - beating Arsenal and the 3-3 at Anfield. He was clearly never properly fit last season and spent most of it injured. With a good pre season behind him I think he more capable than Alli to play the deeper role. His skillset and ability on the ball allow him to a control game more than Alli - who is more suited into ghosting into goalscoring positions rather than pass, move, awareness and ability take the ball in tight spaces that is required in CM.

I guess football is all about opinions i personally thought the bentelab mason partnership was god awfull and for me he does neither the attacking or defending you see it differently thats cool i can live with it i just dont agree and time will definitely tell.

I have to add though alli has more assists and goals than probably either of them and thats in his first season.
I dont recall one assist from bentelab but im sure there must be at least 1 or 2 and as for shooting well lets just leave it there.

Nigel seems to be playing a funny game where he shows off how little he knows about other players and other leagues.

Mmmmm not sure about that. It's not a position he's excelled in for some time. Guardiola tried him on the wing and it didn't work. He's definitely better as a number 10, but maybe Pochettino can change that.
In our system it isn't 'on the wing' though.

I believe this is much closer to the truth. Anyone that thteatens mason's position as back up AM, naturally upsets nigel.

We do this every single year. Excellent player linked with us and two groups form: the naysayers & the name on the back of the shirters. The naysayers are annoying as they're often proved right, the name on the back of the shirters are annoying because they pin all their hopes on it and move onto wrist slitting territory very soon after.

Me, he's a cracking player and I'd be amazed if we hadn't enquired at the price quoted. I reckon he'd be up for coming but can see other places he might want to play. Great if he signs, move on if he doesn't.
If you noticed, i said "when we dont sign him" aka i doubt we sign him

Oh I don't dispute that other Prem teams spend far more in wages than we do. That however does not mean we are unable to pay top players the "market rate", because there is no market rate. Players nowadays are not paid by how good they are or what they have achieved. Milner for example is on £150k a week(according to reports) Sakho and Henderson on 100k a week as well. They are not top class players, so do they set the bench mark for solid Premier league players? As I said in a previous post we pay more than these top class players would get at most top foreign clubs, even though they would get more if they went to Chelsea for example. That is my point there is no market rate, because in the same way as transfers. The players are only worth what the buying club is willing to pay. They are worth more to some teams than they are to others.

But that's the point that @scat1620 was making isn't it ? There is a market value, it's fluid, non linear, doesn't always correlate exactly to (perceived) ability and can be influenced by contract situation etc etc, but clubs like ManC paying £150k for the likes of Milner do set some kind of market value that we cannot live with, which is why it's incredibly rare that a club like us ever signs proven, world class players in their peak prime.

Sounds like a brilliant piece of PR by the little midget

Little midget show interest to look ambitious

Then manager said he doesn't fancy it because player does not fit into system ,does not press hard enough

Midget's fan boys all nod in agreement

Buys Robson Kanu instead

Midget gets a pay rise
