Plans were in place for this long before Khan came along, it's TFL's way of bridging the gap after the government spending review last year saw their operational grant disappearing by 2020. London will be the only major European city without a subsidised subway system (it's also the oldest subway with all the infrastructure problems that creates).Making better commercial use of TFL owned property was one of Sadiq Khan's pledges when running for Mayor. Too late for this project considering planning permission et al but I do hope we see more of it in the future - I wouldn't hold my breath though.
Nothing new just like Johnson taking credit for the bikes and the olympics.Plans were in place for this long before Khan came along, it's TFL's way of bridging the gap after the government spending review last year saw their operational grant disappearing by 2020. As an aside Khan also took credit for night tube going live on August 19th - more opportunistic bollocks as the major stumbling blocks (recruitment, unions) had already been negotiated before he became mayor and the planned date was pretty much already in place.
Depends which part of the stadium you're talking about. North stand is already a floor above ground/pitch level, other parts of the stadium are variously at ground level or below (or awaiting demolition of the existing!)Saw today that they were pouring a slab and are preparing for a much larger section to be poured on either monday/tuesday.
Does anybody know if the level their concreting now will be at pitch height? Im presuming so with the underneath being the basement level?
Be interested to know which company that is as the company I work for is currently still finalising the design for the roof prior to hopefully installing it!some minor info from daz on ftl: I play football with a bloke who works for the company who have been contracted to do the roof on the new stadium. They've been given a 20 week deadline to compete it
Didn't get a start date sorry I'll ask him Thursday
Dunc2610, do you play football with a guy who keeps asking questions about the new stadium roof?Be interested to know which company that is as the company I work for is currently still finalising the design for the roof prior to hopefully installing it!
If you saw me you'd know I don't play football! Rugby perhaps but I'm not winger!Dunc2610, do you play football with a guy who keeps asking questions about the new stadium roof?

8/12/2016
THST welcomes the Club's decision to give season ticket holders most affected by building work in the north east corner of the ground a part-refund. All affected season ticket holders are being contacted by the Club to be informed that they will be getting a refund of 12.5% on the price paid to renew their ticket.
The club said: "Whilst for games that are played in decent weather we will only see a minimal (if any) impact on supporters, we as a Club have taken the view that the potential change to surroundings and the experience in poor weather conditions warrant this part-refund to be provided at this stage rather than retrospectively."
THST had raised the issue with the club and we were told the Club's board was considering it. We welcome the Club's proactive decision to look after its fans. Refunds will be put back on to cards that were used to pay for renewals. Anyone who paid by cash, Cheque or V12 will be contacted additionally with details about how they will be refunded.
