Musa would improve us. Possibly Slimani also.

We are severely lacking pace.

Really? Who do they replace in our strongest line up then? Would be a good option from the bench perhaps.

N'Koudou has loads of pace so I'm told.

I'd have liked to have seen a ball playing/creative 'sitting' or attacking midfielder brought in but they are hard to find, and tend to be very expensive! Kovacic would have been nice, Isco would have been nice too. Seemed like long shots though. Coric would seem to have been one of the more attainable targets but he has offers piling up that he can choose from, he also doesn't seem keen to leave right now.

Our team played out of their skins last season, and we had minimal injuries to our key players.

We recognised a couple of obvious gaps which we plugged at the start of the window but have then I feel pushed a lot of good squad options out of the team.

I don't believe our players can play at the same level they did last season, and remain injury free, so this window is a huge disappointment but entirely consistent with out continuous lack of transfer investment.

I initially put it down to the instant gratification generation, but a lot of the fans are old enough to know better.

Some of our fans belong on Arsenal Fan TV.
The irony is, Arsenal fans have become 'happy clappers' that sit on their padded seats and just accept being stagnant. Basically sheep that have lost the ability to think for themselves, 'In Arsene we trust', 'Arsene knows best'. Sounds like most of you on this thread, all that's missing is 'Levy knows best'.

You lot are basically the Spurs version of that guy with the headphones on ArsenalTV.

If you're comparing Arsenal's situation with Spurs' then you generally do not know what you are talking about, no offence.

I didn't liken the position of our Club to theirs no, read the post I was replying to, it was about the mentality of fans.

That's the point...you're likening the fans, there's a reason why Arsenal fans are frustrated with Wenger because Arsenal are completely stagnant, so when Spurs fans back Levy it's for a legitimate reason.

Basically it's a shit comparison.

We need to get out of the mindset of a "best 11". It's a best 22. Two players for each position of real first team quality when players lose form or get injured and then your young in reserve.

We have like 19 first team players including young reserves.

That's for four competitions. Insanity.

I said last time we entered the CL we needed more depth or it would cost us and it did. I'm saying the same again and it will.

Then the usual excuses will be aimed at everyone except our great bald overlord.

If your 100% happy with the window that has taken place, fine, you have the right to your views. So have the fans that don't, the notion that we must all just follow like sheep, because 'Levy knows best' and anyone that doesn't is a 'dick' or 'a gooner' is a pitiful one.

Get a grip, have you not heard of middle ground...it's called perspective. No one is saying you don't have the right to your views but don't act like a fucking spoilt little kid in the process.

I literally dont give a shit about Levy knows best or netspend. But the level of hysteria from grown men because we didnt buy some new toys we didnt even need is pretty embarrassing.

All of a sudden people are crying over missing key players Mason and Chadli (or 'half the squad' as they are now commonly referred to) . Man up. fuck sake.

We end the window with the same side that challenged the title, with a sprinkling of very good additions in areas we were short. Whats the big problem.

We now have CL footy to contend with and a very inexperienced squad. I'd have even taken a couple old hat experienced players on loan to offer mentoring through the season.

Instead we have a very slim squad with huge expectations on their shoulders and a lack of any real depth or cover.

If we weren't going to spend, we shouldn't have sold so many.

It's a costly gamble.

I think Poch seems, though I may be wrong as he continues to shape his squad, to be going down the 'power, power, and a bit more power' route. In my utopian ideal I'd want it done differently. Also don't agree with some of his personnel decisions. I also have some more controversial views on how a football club should be run, but if you're that interested for more details then drop me a PM, squire.
Agree with you regarding the emphasis on power. Not a big fan of our style of football. Very functional and downright dull a lot of the time.

Depends who your opposition is. Red nose got it. Maureen gets it. Even Mancini got it.

Red nose won the league with a high work rate and having a smart rotation policy depending on the opposition. Like people on here keep pointing out, not always about the money.

You can always look at things in different ways. Would we want Isco or some other top quality player? Of course. But how much? How much is that player worth? Once the price is established, would he come to us? There just aren't that many players who would improve us who would actually come to us.

It's always easy to sit at home and spend the money, unfortunately it just doesn't work like that in real life. We could buy Aguero for example, but what happens to Kane? He might sit on the bench for a season but not much longer. We could have offered ibra £400000 per week and he would make us better. But for how long?

Building a team takes time. You have to allow players to develop and grow and we have done that. 1 year ago we had a very young Kane, Alli, dier, eriksen and lamela. Talented yes, but young and unproven. A year on and we have 5 of the most desirable players in the league. What if we had bought "better" players last year as many had wanted?

As for the levy-hate, well, it's just boring. How much better could he have done? Yes he has made mistakes, but realistically where do people expect us to be? In the last 5 years we have finished above every single team except the scum and we have done that whilst building a stadium, a training complex and amassing the best young squad in the league. We play in Europe every season and will play in the champions league this season. We have had a good title challenge and played some excellent football at times. We have exciting and talented players who seem to like playing for us.

What more do people actually want?

We're progressing fairly well as a club, I think some on here think we could do even better if we 'went for it 'a bit. The money was clearly there to, but once again we left things too late. And the list of big name targets (to which there is credible evidence of us trying to secure) that we have failed to get grows longer. We have managed to secure a really good manager for once, be nice to back him all the way imo.

Looks like we've got Sissoko for 30 million so that's kind of put paid to the argument that Levy won't spend.
