I'd much rather a 'desperate to join' sissoko than a desperate not to join 'isco'. If he's motivated he's pretty unplayable, and he's proven he can do it in this league

Are we certain its 30 mill? Read it's over 5 years instalments, which in that time we would have made over 500 million from to payments alone

Sissoko looked better than Pogba in the Euros fuck what he looked like at Newcastle...he was under a succession of shit managers there. could be a beast for us

Thats how I expected Pogba to play.

If hes motivated and hungry he could be a very good.

Do you think he may play AM?
AMR is his main position, but I'm sure he's being brought in with a view to possibly slotting in for Dembele as well. In the event that he doesn't adapt to a CM2 we can drop Dele back and play Sissoko further up.

Lol I can imagine Poch laying on a beach in Spain calling up Newcastle and doing his best Levy impression "Yeah 30m!"

Always risky spending 30m on a player.

I suppose with sissoko we have a player who knows what the premier league is about and can hit the ground running, which is what we need.

Can't afford a Lamela type signing to take 2 years to settle again.

Good business

Honestly, I've watched this guy a lot, absolute best of a player. If Poch taps in and gets his head right, this is a huge signing for us, huge.

Don't make the mistake of being underwhelmed because of the inconsistentcy at Newcastle, it was a mess.

This guy has the ability to pull defences all over the shop. What a signing to round out our midfield options.

We've seriously just upgraded our strength in depth if this goes through.

I agree with you here.

I think it's the money that is jarring.

I think if we'd signed him for £10-15m most people would be saying this.

We need to forget the money though. It's annoying because other fans and media will tease us about it but that doesn't actually matter.

Bottom line, we will NEVER be a pushover in midfield now we have Sissoko and Wanyama to add to our options.

Remember that game at West Ham where they bullied us? Or literally every game Ryan Mason or Tom Carroll played last season where they were totally anonymous.

This guy will be the opposite of that. He will add running and power to our team and - crucially - is a strong option as we will get injuries.

Also your point about Pochettino is spot on. If you put the training methods he uses into a player like that then I'd be amazed if his performances don't go up 1-2 levels at least.

Finally, it is well documented that Poch scrutinises player characters before any of them get signed. If he thought he wasn't up for putting the work in there is no way we'd have even bid for him.

It's too expensive but it's a good signing.

Why does anyone care how much a multi billionaire just spent on a player?? You all wanted a dembele alternative, we've just got a very good one. Don't care if he was 3 or 30 million

Because next season we'll be lucky to spend £4.50 on players as Levy tries to get his money back......:(:(

Call me crazy but Levy doesn't strike me as someone who'd pay 30m for someone Poch doesn't want. We've shown ambition if this happens. It's what people wanted, spend big money on a player the manager wants.

Oh Mousa Dembele
Oh Moussa Sissoko

Lets not forget that it's £30m in 6 instalments so only £5m at a time. Broken down it isn't so bad.

This has turned out as a very good window. Pritchard, Yedlin, Fazio were all on loan and Bentaleb not featured so neither needed replacing. Mason replaced with Sissoko while Wanyama adds to the defensive midfield hole, Janssen replaces Chadli who tried to fill in up top and N'Koudou replaces N'Jie who clearly isn't suited to the wide attacking role.

Newcastle sign Atsu from Chelsea on season long loan, what are the chances of a hijack for Sissoko with Atsu used as a makeweight?
