Tbf we haven't scored two with Dier and Wanyama in CM. I think we are way too static with both of them.

Oh, not disagreeing in the slightest. But if ever there was a day for the two of them it was Stoke away - and I'm not being wise after the event because I said exactly that here when the team was announced.

Win the physical battle first (or at least not lose it), and then outplay those donkeys. Pochettino went for horses for courses and the result totally justified him.

At home to Sunderland next week will call for a different approach. And will get one.

Anyone else think that Wanyama should probably have seen a second yellow when he blatantly obstructed one of their players? Good to see Poch remove him as he saw the danger.

Such a great performance!
  • We got 3 points
  • Kane got off the mark
  • Alli got off the mark
  • Eriksen got 2 assists and looks more like his best
  • Son was amazing. Nice to see him to great :)
  • Kept a clean sheet
  • 4-0 win away from home
Couldn't really have gone better, and all without Dembele. I'm so excited to see what we're like with him back in the squad! :D

I dropped by earlier just after the teams had been annouced i could not beleave the negitivity on here from so called fans , i just had to log off , just cannot get my head around some in here , god knows what they would have made of our teams in the nintys

Can you imagine. That shite we had to watch week in week out year after year. We used to go away in those days and we'd be happy to get in the opposition half every now and again (and that's no exaggeration!)

Shouldn't really have been on a yellow card in the first place.

Crazy isn't it. I started supporting spurs around 93. A cup run was a good as it got. Used to wear my spurs shirt on mufty days at school and get the piss ripped out of me royally. Had posters on my bedroom wall of Dean Austin. Used to wang on to my mates that Paul McVeigh was the next big thing. You get the idea!

I know its a bit of a what if post... but if wanyama wasnt at risk of getting a yellow then he would have still been on the pitch and the chances are we woukdnt have had the display we witnessed.

I think Dier and Wanyama playing together is detrimental... just hope Poch has kinda understood that now

Anyone know what's happened to Kevin Wimmer. His not made the bench for any of our games. Has he done a Bentaleb. Havent seen any stories about an injury.

Poch has said about the youngsters that if you perform better than the other players you'll get selected. I can only think he's been better than wimmer in training and so is getting on the bench ahead of him on that basis.

Strange situation truly rate Wimmer. Dont buy Poch comments. Would he drop Kane if Janssen played better. Truly intrigued by his absence.

To be honest i didn't think we that bad in the first half, after the first 10 minutes we were solid and pretty comfortable and slowly grew into the match. Towards the end of the half you could see the players starting to create the space and runs they did so easily last season against stoke.

We hadn't played that well at all in the previous matches, we looked disjointed, our attacking unit seemingly separate from the defence. Today even though we were slowish in the first half, and in 2nd gear, the whole team worked as a unit, had shape and a balance. These things take their time to iron out and work on the pitch.

2nd half we built on that and ran riot ( presumably, had to go to to work for a few hours)
