Boys proved me wrong and I'm delighted about that.
Hope we can kick on from here with the same spirit.
After Leverkusen a defeat today would have been unbearable
before another break.
Still in it, still unbeaten, coping well with injuries
and Harry back.
Do I not like that!

After Wednesday night's performance I guess many of us feared the worst, especially with Dele Alli also being unavailable , they would have been the last team we wanted to lose our unbeaten run to in the PL. A massive improvement in effort commitment meant and application was called for and we we duly delivered, we can go into the international break with our heads held high.

They would probably have been fancying themselves with the team news as being the ones to burst our unbeaten bubble in the PL and they would have wasted little time in gloating over it so it's another positive that we have stopped them from doing this. We also didn't buckle after going 1-0 with their 'debatable' goal, I can see clear reasons for and against allowing it to stand if I am taking my Spurs glasses off.

It's worrying that the injuries are starting to mount up and let's hope we doing pick up anymore on the international break as we we will also face stern tests after the break. Well done lads, good response from the Champions league performance, good tactical switch by Poch to shore up the defence by playing 3 at the back and two wing backs, keep it going, COYS !!

Like none of the English fans ever say stupid shit ?
Yeah, but it is said with the ancestral gravitas as custodians of the game donchaknow!

To more important things: what did you think of the three at the back? You may remember I have wanted this for some time and thought that this would be the tactical evolution/base formation added into our team this season, and not the 4141. Unfortunately it seems his hand was forced as opposed to him being inspired into it.

If those two players were running back I'd say yeah not offside, it happens in open play too. If in open play both were running towards the same ball then it would be offside.

I think he is wrong haha. Personally k think fuck rules but it's common sense. Referees and linesmen use their discretion and common sense overall so they could have used it here.
You have a point that I agree with, but...
The law that I read on the screen doesn't allow for that, it is quite clear, if the player(s) in an offside position do not impede an opposition player from playing the ball, or obstruct his vision, then they are not impeding play and, therefore, not influencing play. It down not allow for the fact that they actually are influencing play because they force the defender to make a decision he might otherwise not make.
The rule is flawed in that way but, as it stands, the ref has no choice but to award the goal.

Great to see a real flexibility from Poch this season. Really proving what a top class manager we have.

Happy with the draw, but still unhappy with the way we are playing.

We are strong defensively which is great, but offensively we are an utter joke.

We admittedly aren't Liverpool or Chelsea attacking wise right now but we could easily have had 3 goals today, against a good arsenal side. Lets not lose our heads. Loved the fact we could adapt and change formation if required. Walker/Rose will cause a lot of teams problems further forward

It's going to be very tricky to make top 4 with those teams ahead of us playing well and a little bit of a gap developing. Not sure I'm that bothered if we finish fifth, seeing how we've responded this year in the CL...for me it's all about WINNING something, and I'd love us to go all out for the FA cup or even Europa League.
8 years without winning anything and counting, 50 million spent and still apparently not enough squad depth to compete in more than one competition.

As for today, I am not surprised I knew we would raise our game and get a result, we are a good side hard to beat, but not enough match winners to be title winners or get top 4.

We didn't really change much IMO. We played the basic style we played last year, did we not? Am I the only one seeing that?

This time we just played the formation with an extra CB cause we have no confidence going forward.

Last year, Eric dropped back to form a back 3 damn near every time going forward. Today we played the exact same way, with our FBs going forward.

Just today, we completely avoided the middle of the pitch.

For me this was a sign of a side that has no confidence in itself. We put an extra CB in thinking that we couldn't control the game. We relied too much on our FBs for width and were uber risk averse in getting the game flowing.

Some of us didn't. Ahem.

Battling stuff today, with some very good passages of passing.

Wanyama and Dembele were immense, Lloris was back to his best, Kane was talismanic, Son was a threat, and our wingbacks - well, they were born to play that role. If Erikson had had his shooting boots on we might have won. But I don't think anyone deserves criticism after that very credible team performance. We must surely be the first team in a long time to go to the Emirates and not get dominated by their passing - far from it.

The league table is slightly deceptive at the moment. We've played Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Leicester and not given any points away to them. If we keep up that sort of record against the challengers, we'll be in the title mix at the end of the season.

Do our negative fans forget the amount of injured players we've had? Any team that's had the injury's to their most influential players like us, would struggle. We should be proud that we're fighting and grinding out points in the mean time. The old Spurs would have lost those draws. Once we get the attack sorted, we'll be flying!

You're quite right.

Oh...
You must be kidding? I understand what you are trying to say but it misses the mark for a number of reasons that I won't list because if you don't know what I'm getting at then you are unlikely to be persuaded by such efforts. But nice try.

Also, beat West Ham and we're on 2 PPG and unbeaten - probably not enough to win the league when stretched over the whole season, but certainly enough to finish top 4. It would be "Spursy" to go all season unbeaten and not win the league, but back-to-back CL qualifications would be a massive step.
Early days, but can't somehow see one of the current top 4 dropping out( especially with no Euro distractions for Chelsea and Liverpool) . Even worse, we may be hurtling towards the Europa league ourselves this season( and next?)

Don't understand their goal at all. A player doesn't have to touch the ball to be offside. Being in an offside position when the ball is played is all it takes, and 2 Arsenal players were in an offside position when the free kick was taken. In open play there would have been a flag.
