Never met him, seen him or spoke to him, but this story choked me up big time. 44 years old is no age to lose anybody, let alone a father and a husband...this guy is 1 year older than my dad, probably fitter, probably healthier. Such a tragedy that these things happen, no justice in this world sometimes...

RIP Ugo, all the best to his friends and family at such a hard time<3

Been great to see the support from other clubs too. Tragedies, in all their darkness, are lightened only by the unity of football as a sport. Let's hope for a good, clean, fair match tomorrow, and win this one for Ugo!

RIP Bro. As a member of the Spurs family you will be missed, especially by the younger part of our playing staff whose lives you helped to mold and define with great effect. Sleep well, job well done.

What the hell? I heard our training ground mentioned on the radio earlier at work but was busy and only just heard the news. This is just so sad :(

Gave me goosebumps reading this this morning. Always seen him around the training ground whenever I've watched youth matches. Questioned some of the things he did, but he has always been respectful and set a great example and occasionally used to nod at me when he saw me. Proper chills, and meant a lot to the youth players, my instagram feed as just been all the academy players leading tributes, clear how much he touched them.

I don't usually get shaken by the death of people I don't directly know but this one shook me like Phil Hughes' death, likely because he was part of the Spurs family

RIP Ugo, thank you for the work and commitment you put into the club, did not go unnoticed. Also a very very good player, very sad news.

Makes you think. I still play footy 2-3 times a week against guys in their 20s and early 30s and most of the lads probably think I'm still 35 ish but I'm 42 next month. Don't ever feel like slowing down but you wonder...

Was very sad to see how shaken Paul Merson was when he was talking about it. Tears in his eyes and his voice was very shaky. He obviously had huge respect for Ugo and it hit him very hard. He can have a day off from my usual opinion of him.

Tragic. RIP Ugo. Seemed to have been well liked by everyone in the game. Says it all really

He was in bits. They should have stopped the interview really. Wasn't fair on him at all

Ultimately, we all just follow different football teams and things like this are far more important than football.

I would imagine Paul wanted to do it, he would have been upset before he went on air too, there's no way they would have forced him to talk on TV if he didn't want to.

That's what's so shocking and I didn't know him, and didn't really think of him etc but it's the fact it's so sudden and someone who I'm sure is fit and healthy yet I know I'm nowhere near as fit etc. It scares the shit out of you that one day you're fine, next you're dead.

All I've been doing is thinking like shit one day and it could be any fucking day, and not just me but my folks etc, it's bigger than football it's life which makes it so shocking

Yeah, they didn't point a gun to his head. He was upset, there's nothing wrong with people showing their emotions on tv imo, especially at times like this.

I actually think they seemed to cut the interview short anyway.

It's seeming more and more like we had someone very special working with our youngsters in Ugo. Obviously know one ever speaks ill of the recently deceased, but the huge amount of people from all around the game showing their respect and friendship for him is very telling. He was clearly an influential figure, and a really nice guy to boot.

It sounds like whoever replaces him in our setup is going to have big boots to fill. However it end up being is going to have a lot of grieving young men to guide.

Hopefully the club is giving plenty of support to his players already.
