No we shouldn't. There were two teams who were better than us in the last two seasons.

To be fair, many Spurs supporters including myself predicted that we would struggle to make top 4 as the usual suspects would re-emerge this season
I thought Liverpool would win the league b/c no Europe and having a pre season with Klopp. I was wrong too!

Opinion piece about Sky's coverage, a topic often mentioned in match threads.

https://thespursreport.wordpress.com/2017/05/16/sky-sports-and-the-problem-with-spurs/

I agree, sort of. Agree about not having a Spurs voice and relying on Jamie Redknapp to be that person, but the others they have should be capable of discussing something other than 'they'll lose their players now, won't they' like it's a forgone conclusion.

You would think that this young team, progressing each season, English core, not spending the GDP of a small country on players and creating an exciting season for them as broadcasters and us as viewers would be a good thing for them, but it seems not. Every game is tinged with negativity from the studio and from the commentators. They can have more than one narrative going, it doesn't have to equal putting everything else in the shade.

Interesting article by JJ although I disagree with what he say about paying Walker and other players more money.

If I am Kyle Walker and I am on £40,000 or £50,000 a week and Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne is sitting across from me in the England changing room on, say, £100,000 a week then I am asking myself is that how my club values me?
When I go through the Tottenham team, some of them are already good enough to play for Barcelona or Real Madrid, so you have to start treating them like players of that calibre, or you will lose them.

Well first thing is, Man City are crazy.
Walker is not worth 100,000 a week. We can't afford Man City, Barca, Madrid type wages players know that when they sign up.

It has been said this week (somewhere, can't think where now) that although the basic is relatively low, it is bumped up by quite high bonuses. Most of these players signed new contracts this season so they know how it works and they agreed to the terms.

Spurs can't pay that level until they have that level of income themselves, and not at the risk of relying on CL income every year to fund the team. Articles like this make it sound like Spurs are lagging behind, really the other clubs have overpaid for very average players. Spurs will 'catch up' when the new stadium generates more income.

If the market is saying that the end best RB in the league is earning £100k then it's only natural that the best RB in the league wants parity or more...If he wants that he's perfectly entitled to it...just not at Spurs and if Man City want to pay him that then they're perfectly entitled to offer him that so to say he's not worth that much is wrong based on market value.

Just a quick reminder of what the pundits predicted for us pre-season. Spoiler alert, pretty much everyone without a Spurs connection didnt even have us finishing top 4.

Instead of talking about us maybe they should focus on the abject failure of Arsenal, Man City, Man United and Liverpool (who without Europe should have surely challenged this year)!

Goes to show how good jj is, got our position dead right, and top 4 also, although in wrong order! Such a good pundit! ..... bias aside!

Yeah Lawro has kinda embarassed himself with his blatant liverpool biais there - someone needs to have a polite word with the thick **** and advise him a bit...

The premier league market is inflated we are the 6th richest club in the league and will remain so for some time yet. If he wants to leave for more money so be it, but we shouldn't sell to our rivals and the fee should be no lessless than 50 million.

should just get rid of him and the prediction feature. It can only be there for clicks. Probably every football forum has a discussion about what he says and if he can't get over the Liverpool bias then the rest of it is nonsense.

Yeah it's inflated but we as fans don't dictate the prices the market does.

The weird thing is that every supporter in the top 5-6 clubs that go on forums most probably have a prediction thread, and 90+% will predict their team winning whoever they play, or at worst chuck in the odd draw, the only difference with Lawro is he predicts in the public eye

Yeah but he didn't have Liverpool lose a single game lol...

He seriously thinks the likes of e.g. Chelsea, us, Man City cannot beat his beloved Liverpool because they're the greatest team ever and everyone owes them something etc etc...

It's seriously pathetic.

With us at moment we are the second placed team in league and arguably best team (not blinkers we're playing better than Chelsea) but If I was a Liverpool fan (vomits in mouth slightly) even I could see they need work in areas - e.g. Shit goal keepers, Milner at left back, slightly average midfielders (Henderson is bang average I don't care what anyone says).

So how can he not have predicated a loss all season? It's delusional answer I'd sack him personally cos I'm a massive ****.

Gets people visiting the BBC website though.

Reading KOP this week regarding our contract structure a couple of posters were discussing adopting the Spurs 'Contract' model, I think it was also mentioned by one or two posters on KUMB. Maybe we be seeing clubs adopting our model in the future when paying players. Also as we have shown everyone else with our transfer model that may also be something other clubs begin to look at themselves.

oh I do agree, and what I'm saying is just in our prediction thread there will of been a few that put us down as a win every game, but as a professional it's wrong.

the really weird thing is though they never lost a match v any team in the top 8 this season, though a few draws in them.
