Vorm is 34 this year. Lopez is the future.
34 is not that old for a keeper.
Vorm has the potential to be a great no 2 for 4/5 years

Sessengnon wouldn't be a 'household name', but I think he's exactly the kind of player we should be trying to sign.
Our current policy is working - no need to change it imo.
He is in the Sessengnon household! Does that count?

Unpopular comment, just to clarify unless the household name is a lemar or Costa a sole signing of Barkley would not be a successfulLooking to bring in only one house hold name for me is not good enough
I don't read "household name" literally, I'm guessing it's interchangeable with "marquee signing" or "statement of intent." For me Lemar would fit the bill.Has anyone shone any light on what constitutes a "household name"? By that are we talking a Costa or Alves etc? I'd argue that Lemar isn't exactly the most well known to the average guy on the street, yet he'd be excellent.
Yes, 'household name' by our gloriously deranged filters. We're not talking George Clooney 'household name'I don't read "household name" literally, I'm guessing it's interchangeable with "marquee signing" or "statement of intent." For me Lemar would fit the bill.
4/5 years is a long time for Lopez to wait just to become our number 2 though
The smaller GK's dont tend to play on as long as the bigger GK's though, although I agree he's still got a few years in him.34 is not that old for a keeper.

That is completely ridiculous and shows clearly football in England is financially out of control.
Brad was 6ft3" he was a big GK., Vorm is 6ft. Basically my point was that the keepers that rely more on their agility, like the smaller ones, are not going to play as long as the bigger GK's that fill the goal easier. Look at all the GK's that have played into their late late 30's early 40's, they tend to be the bigger ones. Not sure about that?? Remember our own brad not being that tall for a keeper and he's even older than me ( possibly). Boffon. Only a couple of examples but I'm struggling to remember many older keeper

Not getting the yearning to spunk 40/50million on player X.
Surely we've proven time and time again that this policy is not only risky, but unproven when it comes to our previous big money purchases (soldado, paulinho, sissoko etc).
We've had the most success with paying moderate (relatively) for young, coachable prospects (Alli, eriksen, walker, rose etc), than we have spunking huge amounts of coinage.
It's futile for us to be in the arms race with City, Chelsea, and Utd for the big money players, so let's not even bother.
So is my todgerShay given is 41 and still playing.
