I just cancelled Sky and they offered me 60% of the full package. Happens every year.
Keep working that system.

Man U , Chelsea and Pool all have their own channels already, i've never watched one but feck only knows how that works and why haven't we got one?
<stamps feet> <shoves spaghetti hoops up nostrils>
I think the crackdown on Kodi will send some people back and this will also help
What's the odds the football channel won't be any cheaper the other sports channels will.
Sorry to be so ignorant but what is kodi?

£18 basic plus some sort of online service.
ere in Germany they launched the online streaming service called DAZN. It shows EPL, Serie A, La Liga and other leagues, plus Tennis, Cricket, NBA, NHL, Darts. I Pay 9.99 a month for a high quality steam. Only downer is the commentary of the football games are in German, but you can not fault 9,99 a month for all of that! I think next year they also have Champions League rights! You get your early Saturday kick off, a 3pm kick off, late saturday kick off plus ur sunday games and selected midweek games! Dont know if it would work with a VPN for brits in UK...

The problem isn't with the VPN,thats the easy bit, its with getting the company to sell you a subscription if you're not living in Germany, because they're not allowed to if you live anywhere else. From the comments section -

Cheers nailsy, you learn something new every day! I guess it depends on the quality of your broadband too.Kodi's a software program that let's you stream TV from the internet. You can watch virtually any TV program, film or sports channel without paying a thing. You can load it onto something like a Now TV box and connect it to your TV like you would a Sky box. Loads of people use it and swear by it, but I've tried it a few times and found it unwatchable.

I hear this all the time and never touch lucky when I try and cancel, that said im pencilled in to cancel in a couple of weeks so hopefully get offered something tastey, wont hold my breath though.I just cancelled Sky and they offered me 60% of the full package. Happens every year.

Excellent cheers for that! The trick is you have to go through with it.
I ring up and ask to cancel. They ask why and I tell them the reason (too much etc). They then discuss dropping packages which I say I wouldn't want to do and reaffirm my wish to cancel. Then they offer you a minor discount (30%) max normally but sometimes they don't bother.
The trick is to end the call with your sky package cancelled and you starting to serve your 30 day notice. During your 30 day notice they will start making contact from their retentions team where the good deals are (make sure your contact details are up to date and marketing preferences allow contact).
In the last week I have been offered 50% via email and a post and 60% off on the phone. I'm waiting for 75% or 60% + cash back.
Ultimately this may lead to me going without for a few months but the offers will come at some point. For Sky, getting me back even at 75% off is free money as I already own the box and the dish and all they need to do is push the button to set it live again!

For about 3 months after we cancelled we would continue to get mailshots etc. trying to woo us back, but they never offered more than 50% discount.
After 3 months they just gave up trying altogether.
Been Sky-free for over a year and don't miss it one bit.
We still have phone/fibre with them, supposedly on a discounted rate, but I'm not sure how that works when it's now being offered at £20 per month, and we're paying £38!! Fortunately this "deal" ends next month, so unless they move us onto the £20 price we're heading elsewhere.
Oh, and unless you already have Sky Q box they won't be welcoming you back with big deals etc, as they no longer support or deal on the old HD+ boxes. You'll need to take it up as new customer under new service.
