Agree, he definitely has good sources at the club. Doesn't mean Levy is going to sanction a deal for one of the worlds best players when our top earner is on 3 times less than Bale and all the worlds top clubs would also be trying to sign him.

But we have what other clubs don't, sheep in the field next to the training ground.

Bale will be 29 by the time we move into the new stadium, if his injury record doesn't improve this year we could get him on the cheap (relatively speaking) and he may be willing to give us a discount on his wage demands (unlikely but you never know). But would it be worth it, big money for an injury prone 29 year old

The Goat had Levy on the ropes. But a late flurry from the wee man has led to a Gareth Bale shaped deflection and a eruption of conflicting ITK has kept him in it to fight another day.

Not today, Goat, not today...

"The Goat's source guesses we might get another season from him at best unless things dramatically improve. But that's just a guess." - so the main point of the ITK is based purely on a guess?
No. If you read it properly it isn't based on that at all. that's just how you decided to interpret it.

Appreciate the info, but I'll be more than shocked if Bale returned. I'd probably start scanning the sky for aliens landing.

There may well be a deal to do, but I can't remember Levy ever "making a statement" transfer wise since he's been here.
Rafa?

Re; Bale back to Spurs. In terms of the financial services, would it be fair to say that if we got him back for what RM paid for him then it would be, in effect, a neutral spend and the only real stumbling block would be wages?!!!!:chicken:

Honestly I find the itk rather confusing. I guess if we sign Barkley for 20m then we could summarize that the rest was also true, but if we do sign Barkley then nothing to worry about as we got poch's top target?

No. Hope not.

Likewise...but I think as humans the ill feeling cannot help but carry however pragmatic people are and Edwards will get better support with more mutual trust. I hope and believe he can be our new 'Bale' and front the franchise for the generation but it needs big people on both sides to play in those leagues as a franchise player

The window has been open for 7 days. 7 DAYS! It runs for another 55 days ffs.

And yet pretty much all our rivals have already strengthened their first xi.

Is anyone confident that this will be a good window for us? Or will we continue to try and do everything on the cheap, before scrambling round at the last minute for this year's Stambouli/N'jie/GKN/Sissoko/Janssen

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

This all smells of propaganda to give us something to squabble about whilst we continue to cruise through the transfer window without a signing(s) in sight.

Dont take this the wrong way mate but I bloody hate the Americanisation of our game, and the term 'franchise'...we're a football club.
