I can't believe the club are wasting so much time on Martial, when United tell us to bugger off on deadline day, we'll be left with our tail between our legs.

It's the sort of thing that seemingly happens to us. I'm not sure if that's the actual case, but it at least appears from the outside that sometimes when we do miss out on such a target that we have no backup or go into desperation.

I would love Martial though, honestly think it would be an incredible signing and worth big money.

United might have someone lined up, if that happens, sounds like we got a chance. I just hope we have a plan B ready to sign quickly if martial doesn't happen

We've probably got a buy back clause for N'Jie.

What do you mean wasting so much time?

Ridiculous statement, just hyperbole

Even though Martial is the player I want us to sign the most, I think we should be trying to sign Draxler instead. We can afford his wages (100k euro p week), he's on the transfer list, and would probably cost much less than Martial
100% this, if he really is available for the price mentioned in the press, even if it goes up to 40/50 mil (I'm assuming if we are after Martial then we are looking to spend big) then we should be all over him. I know Martial is more a forward but even so, Draxler would be an incredible sting for us.

I'd be surprised if they were wasting so much time on Martial, why do you think they are?
Seems pretty clear to me that Martial himself is not determined to stay at United and play, or not play, under Mourinho, it also seems pretty clear to me that he is not top of the list of players Mourinho wants to keep in which case someone probably has a chance to get him.
If we took a nibble and found that they didn't reject us straight away then we had to investigate further and being as we were very interested in signing him a couple of years ago until his club put the block on it with too high a valuation, he may not be averse to joining us in principle making further investigation worthwhile.
Someone has said £30/£40 million isn't enough and I agree as, I suspect, does Daniel Levy who will be ready to offer far more if and when he believes the opportunity is real.
This could be one we have walked away from but it could possibly be one that calls us back and could even be our big one.
Whatever the case I don't believe Daniel Levy is going to waste so much on it to the detriment of other business.

70m package is deal Yanited would do. If other bids come in that may rise, but doubt it. I have been very well informed by the right people he wants out, and would come to us. However, extremely expensive package. Would need someone to pay 25m for VJ, with a sell on clause.

Closing sentence my opinion based upon what i gathered from snippets. I then put my own understanding on it

My take on it would be, Utd want Rose in exchange, wouldn't put it past them to want Rose plus cash. Martial has two goals in two games, Rose hasn't played for months. And for that reason, we're ruling him out, for now. If Utd, now they have Zlatan back, plus maybe get another LW, become more realistic on price, maybe there's a deal to be done, although we'd need a quality LB in place, hence the ITK about a long shot out there, but multiple deals would need to be done, and we'd have a loss.

Great info.

I think the chances of someone paying 25m for Vincenzo are actually lower than us paying 70m for a player.

I'd suggest that we throw in Sissoko with Janssen as a "buy one get one free" offer, but I fear it would only make the proposition less attractive :/

If we're getting Martial, we could afford to lose Janssen. Up to now, I've been hopeful he'll come good, but in reality he's an out and out CF, so only going to get minutes when Kane isn't playing, so staying match sharp and finding form is difficult. Getting someone like Martial in, at least he can play wider, so keep sharp.

We would win the league with martial and other expected signings

I would love Janssen to do well, but we could afford to lose him with a far less capable replacement than Martial (I know Martial wouldn't be coming as a CF).

Think 25 is a stretch for VJ as is (but possible if you believe old ITK about having multiple teams interested with a value of at least what we paid for him), but you tack on the sell on clause and it's even more far fetched.
