If taking so much time and risks to get him (still not guarantee that his visa will get approved before the transfer deadline), why we just didn't go for the Porto RB? Probably not so much worse but still at affordable price.

As this guy is probably one of the best RBs in world football and no other teams in that category wanted to wait or needed one this year

We sign players subject to work permit/visa all the time. I'd be surprised if we haven't already signed him but are not announcing it because we're not 100% certain he'll get the work permit/visa granted. Usually we're certain a player will get a work permit so we announce it straight away. This one is a little different because we don't know.

The ITK did seem to suggest the deal had been agreed but obviously nothing will be signed if he doesn't get the visa. Presumably everything will move quickly if the visa application is granted.

What does signing him subject to a work permit being granted mean exactly? I'm assuming there would be a clause in the contract and agreement between the clubs that meant they would be void if he failed. We announced Sanchez with the same caveat yet haven't done so with Aurier. E

Apparently we will be told before 12:00 PM.
We might have been told already. Pretty sure we would try and stop any leaks because we wouldn't want any other clubs finding out about it.

I know a guy working for a very large construction firm in Paris with corporate seats at PSG, he said last Friday night the talk was Aurier was done to us and Pastore could join him. Possible double deal announcement?? He also said talk was PSG have tried several times recently 2 sign Hugo... so buckets of salt required etc. Probably just fans speculating!

Can only assume that the player would still be available to other clubs until the deal is finalised in such a case. We've most likely done tha deal but it doesn't mean Aurier couldn't go elsewhere while there is a possibility it might not happen for legal reasons. What it probably does mean though is that he won't be going to any other English club.

I wouldn't be hugely surprised if PSG were prepared to sell Pastore and Poch was interested in bringing a gifted Argie AM to Spurs.

Apparently our offer for Denis Suarez was turned down by the player. I assumed he was Plan B if we lost Barkley. Maybe Pastore is another Plan B if Barkley doesn't happen for whatever reason - chavsk, extent of his injury etc.

I honestly can't see this NOT happening. More likely that hold up is the club getting their Twitter announcement drafted rather than any hold up with deal now. PR opportunity here with so many other deals still hanging in the balance. Need to get it right.

As much as Poch allegedly wants Barkley, I'm convinced Pastore would be very tidy alternative. Normally I'd have thought pipedream, however, all the talk of a very confident attacking option, and the suggestions PSG needs to clear some space, I did start to think there may be some mileage there.

I hear the home office announces visa applications by chimney smoke. One color for approved, one for denied. Do we have anyone on the ground at Home Office at noon to verify? o_O
Indeed, my esteemed associate Montague J Withnail is on hand to transcribe the message into Esperanto and then attach to a carrier pigeon, which will circumnavigate the Thames before shitting it's despatch onto my shoulder upon which I shall seek to update sundry members of SC
