Davies has improved so much in the past 12months. He looks quicker too and contributing a lot in the final third

Oh and shout out to Davies, he's been excellent.
I feared the worst though when he lost a sprint by a mile against Cuco early on. But credit where it's due: he's been solid agian this first half.

For all the stick I personally give Dier, he's moved the ball with a lot more purpose today.

The commentators have been portraying this as a dominant Spurs performance. Until the 2nd goal went in, that wasn't what I was watching. Everton had a great deal of possession in the first half hour and created most of the attacks, which we defended well. But they were running the game and winning most of the ball in midfield.

We finally got a bit of control for 4 minutes and promptly scored an opportunistic fluke of a goal. And we have generally have looked more cutting in attack, which owes quite a bit to the Everton defence giving Davies and Trippier way too much space.

After the second goal, we properly took over the game and should really be 3 or 4 goals up.

Sanchez looks excellent. Not only has he defended well individually, but he has passed thoughtfully and worked seamlessly with Vertonghen & Alderweireld.

Sissoko hasn't been inspired, but he's been OK and played a part in one of the goals. Eriksen has been the brain behind everything, as usual. Alli has been driving Schneiderlin mad with his pressing and chipping.

But really, the difference so far has been that Everton haven't defended well and we have.

Everton haven't created one clear cut opportunity though? Whereas we've created several

Better finishing and score would end up looking similar to City-Pool game. All 3 centrebacks were perfect and Sissoko was causing some problems for their defenders.

Only 45 mins so far but Sanchez looks really decent, that back 3 should be awesome once it gets settled.

Want an early 3rd goal. If Everton decide to attempt to expose our deficiencies today they could get back into this.

Well, that was a fucking mess. I really, really hope I'm wrong, but unless Poch changes it it at half time (and I'm sure he won't because he probably thinks we are doing great) then I think all it will take is Koeman to come to his senses and re-jig Everton a little and there is easily a couple of goals in this for them. We've got the lead and could have had more, but only because the game is such a wide open mess and we've gone all numerical flood, by playing nobody except Dier in midfield. Both goals had massive elements of fortune.

Ridiculous goal aside (if it was a shot he shouldn't be doing it when there's three guys in there waiting for a cross) Kane's been fucking poor, passing up opportunities to hit the target or play someone else in. I think Alli had actually been OK, but that miss was piss poor.

I genuinely do not understand why Sissoko would be picked ahead of Winks, because Winks is also good at bombing on, if that's what Poch wants, he's just a fuck sight better in midfield too. Call me old fashioned, I just prefer my footballers un-lobotomised.

I guess if you like thrills and spills you'll be enjoying this garbage, it's not for me I'm afraid. Boo hiss BC, Boo hiss BC I hear you cry. Bollocks I cry back..

Davies crossing has been wonderful. Alli should have buried a header at the end or some something useful and Kane will feel gutted he scuffed his shot. I think the whole team have played pretty decent

Davinson Sanchez is quality ain't he? Sheesh :playful:

It's a strange one at times he looks like loses his man really easily once in the first half he stepped up and I was like what the hell but then somehow he just intercepted the ball.

Glimpses of talent but also poor concentration but lovely the tackle then up to win the throwing too

I have no idea why but Kane isn't looking as confident this season in front of goal as he has been the last few seasons, I know it will click eventually but it just seems like his shooting accuracy hasn't been as lethal as we have seen so often from him.

Last season he is burying that last shot he had 9 times out of 10.

I know we have got used to Kane scoring from all angles but it was on his left and he had a defender in front of him. Should have done better but easy to pull it wide.
