Poor game; very poor organisation from poch (not given our players enough of a key to grip the game with); pretty average performances from us, bar one or two. Yet, we're 2 up having given E'ton the middle of the pitch to run through.

A lot of moaning on here considering we're battering what is supposed to be a decent side. And who had a "great summer" window.

Good first half.

Gotta come out strong in the second half. Can't let them get a sniff or they'll get their tails up and we'll be caught flat footed.

Sissoko has been a little loose, but has actually played with some tempo, driven forward quite well too. I think he is an adequate stand in for dembele against teams where defensive discipline isn't required.

Impressive first half...

Sanchez looks a really clever buy. Aggressive defender who has pace to burn. When Toby and Jan are too slow to cover the ball in behind, he's there to mop it up/slow down the play every time...

Sissoko has made some good runs and works hard off the ball but just lacks quality and awareness on it. Despite that, I feel that this is the system for us. It allows us solidity at the back and real width on the pitch with the full backs pushing up and crossing as often as possible.

Davies has played well. He's taken his opposing full back on and put in a number of dangerous crosses.

I have no idea why but Kane isn't looking as confident this season in front of goal as he has been the last few seasons, I know it will click eventually but it just seems like his shooting accuracy hasn't been as lethal as we have seen so often from him.

Last season he is burying that last shot he had 9 times out of 10.

I feel like I'm mental but I can't be the only person to think that Dele's technique is actually bordering on piss poor for a pro. He gets plenty of goals but he misses so many guilt edge chances it's unreal.

The radios right

Bit of both.

The first goal was a fluke, and the second one was incredibly lucky. And we've missed three sitters. So we're 2-0 up without really having our shooting boots on.

The second goal sums us up today - Sissoko heads it for Kane, not Alli, but Kane's going the other way, so Alli goes after it anyway, holds it up, crosses it but too deep, missing everyone in the middle. Davies follows up and just whacks it into the middle, thoughtlessly. Pickford spills, Eriksen gets the rebound.

We've been the better side, because we are the better side, and we've worked hard, but we're not on top form by any stretch of the imagination. But you'd take it!

Sissoko is playing well. Those with shit in their eyes could not see clearly. If you cannot bring yourself to support a Spurs player I wonder why you bother watching the game.

Absolute wastes from Dele and Kane. Be furious if we don't win this .

Really enjoyed sissoko in the middle. Adds a dimension we don't usually have. Pace in the middle for counters

Back 3 looks really impressive for first game together.

But didn't you get the memo from people on here, we don't need any pace!

'Sissoko has made a difference'

It was a fantastic save initially from Jordan Pickford but all day Spurs have had some fantastic runners from midfield.

Spurs have taken advantage on this occasion but Everton's back four just don't know what to do with them.

Moussa Sissoko has made such a massive difference today because the runs he's made from deep have caused a real problem for Everton.

Pretty weird game. Really we should be four or five up at this point. Everton have been so chaotically open all game, but the first half hour was really scrappy from both teams and it's only towards the end we've really started punishing them.

Think we'll have to strive even more for a little more control in the second half, as they can't play that bad again.

Still, not a bad position to be in at the break.

Enjoyed watching us there for the first time this season, if only we had got 1 or 2 more and I could fully relax. More of the same next half!

Also nice to see our bench looking relatively strong, scary to think we still have Wanyama, Lamela, Rose and potentially Barkley in January to come into this team as well.

I've always maintained that was horseshit. We know what buying an entire new team in one transfer window does to you.

Everton bought way too many players to integrate at once, and the transfers-equals-success media have lapped it up

Sissoko having his best game in a Spurs shirt, he's still not been great but he's done well breaking the lines and moving beyond Kane, Eriksen and Alli. Pochettino is a genius again :)

Sanchez has done well for his first start, Everton has Rooney, Schneiderlein, Klaasen, Sigurdson and Gueye in the middle but seems determined to not play to them which is weird as they completely outnumber Dier and Sissoko. Fortunately, they keep going wide where we have the numbers
