The guy is a superstar and it pure jealousy by any person who doesn't define him as World Class. I've got a mate who is a Utd fan and last night he said that Lukaku and Kane are close in terms of how good they are.

Don't get me wrong, Lukaku is a good striker but he is not world class & never will be. He lacks a touch & a football brain, basically he is just a battering ram. This season Lukaku has already scored 3 goals where his first attempt was dreadful and the rebound went straight to him. Eventually that luck will run out & his scoring will slow down.

I have to disagree with you here. Bale carried a whole team that wasn't great? There were some bloody good players in the side.

This post and the other one look dick.

There were some very good players but it wasn't as good as the side we have now (especially with the manager we have now). Bale used to get double or even triple marked out of a game and would still produce the goods. If anyone tried to double mark Kane now then Eriksen, Dele and Son would just make the most of the space available.

Don't get me wrong, I think Harry's amazing but if you want to make comparisons to Bale then you do need to consider the relative circumstances they are/were finding themselves in. I'd say he reached Bale's level about now but not yet surpassed him.

It's now generally at the point where I don't think there's a player in world football who I would rather have on the ball in the penalty box.

I'm not saying he's better than Messi or Ronaldo because they obviously offer huge amounts more than just finishing (as does Kane btw but not quite as much) but purely in terms of finishing I don't think there's a better player in the world.

And even being able to suggest that about a Spurs striker is frankly astonishing.

Harry's brother was in the local Spurs pub in Nicosia last night as a new Kane song got going. Spitting image of him, looks like a really nice fella, which is no surprise!

I didn't catch the whole song, it was to the same tune as our "she told me to kick his fucking head in..." song and went I think we've found, the white Pele, he plays his football at WHL, he goes by the name of Harry Kane, Harry Kane, Harry Kane, goes by the name of Harry Kane.

One of those songs that can go on for about 5 minutes which is what I like about it.

Unfortunately that's just United's Wayne Rooney song

Considering his age and his ability to develop I don't think I'd swap him for anything...

If it is he's got a great chance. Personally I think Messi is effortlessly the best player in the world, but Kane has been one of (if not the) greatest in world football in terms of form and impact.

I can't see anyone but Ronaldo getting it this year after Real won La Liga and the Champions League with him scoring five in the quarter finals, three in the semis and two in the final. Saying that they changed the voting system last year so it's just journalists voting for the award now, rather than managers and players as well. I guess you could get a split in the Spanish vote between Messi and Ronaldo, and a split in the French vote between Neymar and Mbappe which could help Harry if he carried most of the English votes.

That'll be considered racist soon.

In many ways I thought Kane's performance against Apoel was his best yet.

We were heavily weakened and playing away. He wasn't getting much service but as soon as he got his one chance he stayed onside and finished confidently.

Second half we were looking to be on the back foot but again Kane stuck away his chance to put the game out of reach.

Once we brought Llorente on Kane moved to more like a number 10. His ability to split the defence with a pass to Trippier then time his run perfectly and head in superbly was just a great goal.

There was a thread last season asking about Kane playing the 10 role. This got much ridicule but in some games it can be a great option. The fact he can play both roles is fantastic.

Kane is a lethal goalscorer but there is more to his game than just goals.

Since Messi and Ronaldo came out we have seen players putting up ridiculous scoring numbers, I know they're on a different level but there was a time 1 in 2 was good, and top strikers are besting that. It's brilliant that one of the ones doing it now is at Spurs.

Also Messi and Ronaldo are coming to the end of their careers and domination, Kane keeps going he could genuinely win the Ballon d'Or in his career.

Also yesterday it finally hit me, how easy it is for him to score goals. When Kane took the ball of Ben Davies, and rolled the ball out to Trippier my stream froze. On the frozen stream I saw Trippier with the ball and Kane about to run into the box free, and I thought the ball will be rolled across and he'll caress it home. I knew the outcome. Stream carried on and Kane was celebrating. I was half right, as those two obviously thought that would be too easy and he decided to head on in instead. It's like guaranteed goals. And to think there was a point people thought he was too selfish

Please keep the image-style statistics coming, people. Got one Arsenal fan in the office who relentlessly won't accept that Kane is in the top 5 strikers in the world, even when not including Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.

Some good players but not a good team

The players that are still here now under Poch were nowhere near the same players under AVB
