Vietto had that stand out season at Villareal scoring 20 goals and 8 assists, then went to Athletico and couldn't perform the same way in such a defensive team. I don't know what he's like these days, but might be worth a look.

That was kind of my thought. He had that outstanding year for Vill. Then hasn’t been able to replicate it in such a defensively ridged 442. Might be worth a look, Argentinian too, Poch May already know about him I’m sure!

If that is true and he is leaving I think Real Madrid are massively under- valuing his importance to that team. He may be 32 but is an unbelievable player, would welcome him back in a heartbeat.

There is not a lot of upside in a big signing in January. Players are almost always more expensive in January - unless you can find someone like Barkley who is available on a Free this summer. And there are no signings that guarantee a top-4 spot.

On the contrary, from a business sense, Spurs would be much better off with a couple of big signings in the summer - where the marketing potential heading into the new stadium is much greater.

There is if you consider that our traditional summer business is rarely concluded until the very last knockings of the window. Even if a January signing doesn't make a huge contribution for the remainder of the season, they get to integrate with the Manager, the team, the system, the surroundings, and they get a full pre season and should be fully ready to participate from the start of the season.

You know, as well as I, that is not how Levy thinks...

Hoping something can be done for Jadon Sancho ...again.

City sold him to Dortmund for €7.84m and he doesn'y want to stay in Germany according to ITK?
I'm saying this in response to the idea that we have of recent times tried to bring youth in in the January window.

Dele Alli and Shillow Tracey (FWIW) cases in point.

actually not interested in Modric (as much as i loved the guy when he was here). Wanyama, Winks is the future and I don't want Winks losing time to Modders

Those wanting Modric back are forgetting the manner in which he left. I don’t think there is any way Levy would have him back here.

Modric. Surely no chance. He's still very much got it and he was a joy to see him on the pitch again against us... Imagine if we had him this season instead of playing Sissoko in centre mid. No brainer if there is any chance at all.

Plenty of games for all of them. Winks won't miss out.

Modric is different class. One of the best midfielders in the world. Even in the Madrid game at Wembley where most of his team mates were sub-standard, he still reigned supreme.

If he's available at a decent price, we'd be mad not to be interested IMO.

Bit OTT. We're not talking Judas here. Robbie Keane said after his departure from Tottenham that Liverpool was his boyhood club and we still welcomed him back ;)

Come on people, it's Talksport. Modric signed a new contract 12 months ago, is one of the very best and most probably well paid midfielders in the world and was voted 5th in last nights Balon d'Or. It's nonsense.

Wouldn't mind us going for Riedewald or Sarr as Vertonghen is the only left footed CB we have on the books now.
