We are clutching at straws believing that Onomah is our saviour. Have a look at the Villa fanzine and hear what they think.. Not too positive.
with all due respect to villa fans i dont give a flying fuck what they think about josh, he's been constantly played out of position and in a horrible side, how could they see the best of him. their just a bunch of cranky mouth breathers picking projecting their frustrations onto the kid bc he isnt one of their own.

That said i do agree he isnt our midfield saviour, that we need to also sign a more expierenced midfielder to help carry the burden. But their should be room for new signing, winks, onomah and dembele in our midfield.

I don't understand how we can lack motivation when this is the only realistic trophy we can win this season.

This is what happens when you tell the players that these kind of trophies are beneath them, I think they need to understand they have acheived nothing yet, that kind of arrogance pisses me off.

The FA Cp has been continually won by other top four teams, all of whose managers hardly treat the competition as a priority.

Our players have achieved something, more than a cup win. They have achieved the status of a title challenging side.

None of these things, our priorities and achievements, matter when your manager makes massive tactical and selection mistakes. Which is what happened yesterday.

This. Is bizarre there are a couple of ones here think Onomah is a natural successor to Dembele.

Nobody has said he's our saviour, some of us would like to have seen him given a chance to develop into a position/role we desperately need filling is all. Because even if he'd not been the saviour, he wouldn't have been any worse than watching Sissoko fill it.

That's very precise. Based on his previous 17,087 efforts, you're stating that 12,815.3 were "top shit"? Don't want to put you to too much trouble on a Sunday, but which one was the 0.3? Genuinely interested to know if it contained a brilliant intro, but lacked something in explanation and conclusion, or vice versa. Of course, also possible that only the middle bit was "top shit"?

Ps. Obviously a question for allpaths. The euphoria of reaching an unbeaten 50 muddled my mind. That and the act of holding my tablet aloft to the four corners of the living room, and soaking up the standing ovation from Mrs Doc and dog Doc.

Love it when people start with something like "Cold hard facts" then fill the rest of the post with opinion.
The post you dismissed so nonchalantly is spot on. We lack a CM. I wanted a CB and a CM signing all summer. This far into the season, I think it's evident that a CM should have been and should now be prioritised.

I would not be happy if we don’t get top 4. We are 6th biggest club financially so 5th is no amazing achievement.

On that basis, people like Mourinho or Pep or Costa winning the league is no amazing achievement either, being simply on or around par.

So, having learned that, who do you think can reliably outperform their financial clout by enough to represent a better appointment as manager than Pochettino?

Didn't disagree with anything he said. They still aren't facts.

I would like to see Josh given some minutes in CM but I certainly wouldn't be up for straight replacing Dembele (who is a nailed on starter when fit) as Josh has a lot to prove and I am not sure hes ready to be a starter for a club of our stature just yet.

I get people have a lot of vested interest in our youth sides and we would all love it if the academy boys were filling out our side but there seems to be a clamour from some to just replace seasoned pros who for the most part have done their bit for us (Trippier for KWP for example) without any real evidence that the replacement is of the same/better standard.

When we signed Heung-min Son [from Bayer Leverkusen], it was at the end of the window [in August 2015.] We tried from the beginning. First of all, he said no. Then, he struggled to play and was upset with the manager, they opened the door and we signed him. Because it was an opportunity. Understand the difference. Fernando Llorente was an opportunity on the last day of the window last summer. Yes or no?”

Sonny said no!!

I think he is going to Real......hope I am wrong, I really do but I am getting concerned.

Why does he not just say "I am staying at Spurs, and not going to Real next season". Instead we have "I am happy here but you never know what can happen in football". Then says he won't manage Arsenal or Barcelona which avoids answering the really question.

Plus he has changed his response, we have gone from I am so happy here, I would love to replicate Alex Ferguson to its not my decision, you never know what can happen it football.

Surely he can shut the press down if he was staying.

Also he recent interviews he seems more down hearted about our transfers and not competing with the other big clubs.

I reallly hope I am misreading it all and actually this is all a big ploy for a new contract.

Maybe he's just getting fed up of being asked about his future.

Because he'd be stupid to ever rule out such a prestigious job, why would he do that? He's right anyway, he could leave or he could be sacked by Levy which is why it makes sense to leave the door open.

I think he would love to take the Real job, not now though, he's fully committed to Spurs but in the future I see him as a Real Madrid manager, not anytime soon though.

With our next 3 games being United Liverpool Arsenal. Every single combined xi will have more spurs players against all 3 of those teams. If we were to fail miserably would people start to question Poch? Not saying sacked but seriously question. Honestly interested to know peoples feelings.

Combined XIs are completely, utterly, subjective and usually pointless as most teams don't play the same formation or individual roles within that. So I'd suggest that's not the best stick to beat Poch with.
