I think these sort of questions are important to ask. Obviously let’s wait and see what happens and hopefully the question is redundant. I love what Poch has done for our club as much as the next man. But I still don’t fell he should be immune from scrutiny. Because he is s great coach doesn’t necessarily mean he is a serial trophy winner. But time will tell.

Fucking hell, we've got some absolute clueless jokers on this forum.
Why because people are prepared to ask questions. I thought that’s what a forum was for. A place to debate different views. Not somewhere to shot people down because they don’t agree or question your viewpoint.

Sorry mate, but it is stupid to try and question Poch on anything. He is the best thing to have happened to the club in my lifetime, easily. He is the only man that could be leading us onwards in the new stadium.

Just because he hasn't brought through any of our overrated youth prospects, doesn't mean he should be questioned. I assume that's your gripe, considering the amount of time you spend waxing lyrical about our academy.

But are you just classing bad results as losses, or hammerings?
Theres no shame, and not really anyone to blame if we lose matches to these clubs but put in good performances.

My point is, people always have the right to ask why we have lost or drawn a game in the same way they can ask why we won a game.

They can ask what player made the difference or assign blame to an individual or a collective in the same way they can solely blame the manager for a result or praise him for a win, it works both ways.

A bad result for me is a result where we have obviously failed to play at our maximum potential for whatever reason that may be, either tactical or collective etc (Newport game prime example) I can stomach a game where we play well but simply lose to the better team on the day.

However, in my experience that is rarely the case in football, most of the time the reason a game is won and lost is down to the tactical balance, there are ways to prevent teams with better players from winning games, tactically we can be very naive sometimes and other times we can be fantastic (Real Madrid game prime example.)

Anyway, my point is, people have the right to assign blame in the same way they have the right to assign praise.

With our next 3 games being United Liverpool Arsenal. Every single combined xi will have more spurs players against all 3 of those teams. If we were to fail miserably would people start to question Poch? Not saying sacked but seriously question. Honestly interested to know peoples feelings.

Pochettino's management and coaching is the reason behind that. We haven't spent anywhere near those clubs to get to this level.

If Kane leaves it'll likely be for a world record fee. His parents couldn't have even dreamed of such headlines in the summer of 2014.

If Rose leaves it'll be likely for £40m+. Not bad considering pre-Poch he was seen as a man with two left feet whose contract renewal was met with dismay.

If Rose leaves we have Ben Davies who has already been our left back for the best part of a year. If he's so good then why did we have a free run to sign him for £10m (half of which was for Vorm)? That summer Luke Shaw was sold for a world record fee for a teenage player. Who was Shaw's manager proceeding that? Mauricio Pochettino.

Alli and Dier cost a combined total of £9m.
Wanyama £12m - Poch brought him to Southampton before that too.
Toby - £12m.

Plus other players like Jan, Dembele and Lloris who were lackadaisical before but whose talents finally met long term consistency under Poch.

Plus players no longer here. Kyle Walker was always a top talent but it was under Poch that he became the star right back in the country. Pep bought the ready-made best for £50m and is getting performances worth that outlay. Such genius!

I don’t know why you let it wind you up so much mate, opinions are like arseholes.

Plus what people say on here has absolutely no bearing on anything whatsoever.

Just either debate a discussion or walk away, if you think something is stupid why even bother engaging?

I mean unless it’s to debate the persons discussion point it’s kind of worthless words that will fall on deaf ears.

How much will we get for Sissoko?

I would take a packet of ready salted and a Yorkie bar right now.

Fair enough, personally though if the players have put in a shift, and there are no glaring tactical errors, I don't see the point in attempting to blame anyone...seems pretty pointless.
But this is by the by, its ridiculous to question Poch about results vs better resourced teams, unless the performances are bad, we have no right to be beating them.

Just trying to help lower your blood pressure Shady, one day you may need viagra and if that’s the case you wouldn’t want to look back in regret on all the days this forum caused you stress and have yourself saying “I could have a stonk on right now if it wasn’t for those negative nancies”

"Question" sounds a bit strong but fans would be entitled to question what went wrong if we were to lose the next 3 matches and part of that would involve questioning Pochettino's tactics, team selections, substitutions etc. I don't think that's particularly controversial? Plenty here question why Pochettino continually selects Sissoko for example. People questioned Pochettino's tactics against Manchester City. If we yet again fail against Liverpool at Anfield, of course questions will be asked about whether we set up correctly or selected the right team.

Fair enough mate, I am not saying it’s right, I myself wouldn’t blame anybody for a loss or draw if we had put in the sufficient effort in a game, we have played well before and it truly has been “one of those days” and on those occasions you just have to say it was nobodies fault.

That being said, more often than not it boils down to an individual mistake or a tactical error, I think the “one of those days” games are few and far between with any team in this league.

I certainly agree that we are already at a disadvantage coming into these games and we need to take that into account when assessing the performances because, like I have said many times before, money has ruined football.

Any gripe I have with Poch this season is purely selection based. I don’t have time to go through the whole list now. But two glaring decisions that Stand out are.
1. Playing dembele as single pivot in NLD then doing exactly same few days later against Leicester when it clearly didn’t work.

2. Playing sissoko in same role against Southampton when it clearly didn’t work against West Ham and diminished our ability to break down both teams.

Listen I’m not gonna say for a second I know more about football than Poch. But there have been some very odd selections imo this season. Capped by a back 5 and midfield of sissoko dembele wanyama against Newport. Where was any creativity going to come from.

People who are incapable of seeing the bigger picture tend to use scapegoats to form their arguments, they are the same people who never give any credit to opposition and fail to see the bigger picture, easy to spot, they're the same people who throw their toys out the pram, you know who they are ;)

We shouldn't expect to beat teams who have more finances than us all the time but we should expect to be competitive against those teams and test them.

Because that’s how life works? If someone fucks up on a job then they are held accountable for it, the buck has to stop somewhere doesn’t it?

Do you live in a fairytale world where nobody should be blamed or held accountable for anything?

You are quite sensitive though mate so it wouldn’t surprise me if you think that’s how the world works, not everybody wants to live in a world where they get their belly scratched for doing a shit job.
Spot on. In a hypothetical world, three losses in a row over the next games will put Pochettino in the spotlight and rightly so. I don't think we will lose all three matches, but if that will be the case, it would be rather grave. It's OK to sit now and say "oh I won't question him", but losing to all of Arsenal, Liverpool AND United over a fortnight, it is not excusable.

Edit: To my lovely fan boys hanging on m y every word, probably we won't lose all three so we'll never know. I hope. But if we do, you won't be have the last laugh, I can assure you.

It doesn't matter whether it's over a fortnight or over 6 months. It's the same amount of points. It will bother me no more if we lose to them in a fortnight than if we lost to one in August, one in September and one in April. Neither scenario would make me question Poch.

As long as he keeps doing every single thing opposite to what @Bus-Conductor wants then I'm happy.

It will bother me, and more to the point, it will bother the entire media and maybe even some of the players. You always win some and lose some in football, that is life. But it is very rare for a top 4 aiming club to lose three in a row. And three decisive matches, too! Runs and streaks matter in football, and three losses in a row for Tottenham against any opposition is bad. It's unavoidable that it would lead to "questions".
