Yeah that's what I mean, they need to show some ambition as opposed to banking up and putting 10 men behind the ball and hoping for a point like they do for the first half of the season.

Managers will not look at it like that they look in advance and target the games they can get 3 points from.
they will look at us as a game they would be ecstatic to get a point from and start building the wall up all week
The bus will definitely be parked :(

We beat Arsenal so surely we've pushed on and the Spursy results are a thing of the past...

According to you anyway ;)

Thing is though Shady, it really was a turning point over these three games, we looked like a team with a genuine belief that we are better than any team in the top 6, we have definitely earned the right to lose that tag now I think.

The Liverpool game was one we could have easily lost, we first let in a goal within 5 minutes, then fought hard to pull it back. Then we allowed Salam to go through 5 players, lucky for us that their keeper is pretty shit.

We are definitely going in the right direction, but we need to break a few hoodoo and win a few trophies before the tag leaves us.

How many more points do you reckon we’ll need for top 4 now?

22/23? Might be risking it a bit

Pretty sure you said the same thing after the Chelsea game last season :D

Right now our aim should be chasing down Utd and finish 2nd. We're the second best team in the league and it's where we should be trying to finish.
Chelsea are outsiders to finish in top 4 now due to fixtures. However we have to stay at level we've shown this week, as things can easily change. It's not inconceivable that Chelsea go to Old Trafford and beat Utd who are a very odd team. Then a loss against Palace and suddenly we're outsiders again. Momentum is with us and right now I'm confident of at least 4th, add in an FA cup which we're second favourites for and its been a sensational season.

Last year it was 76 for the top 4 and the teams currently occupying 2nd-5th have very similar points to the teams 2nd-5th at the same stage last year. We've taken 24 points from our last 11 matches which if we replicate in our final 11 matches may be just enough. May need an extra point or two.

Of course, if Chelsea continue to implode then who knows?

This might be a bit controversial, but I don't actually want anything more than minimum for a new CL season. Because we are still participating in CL and the cup, it makes no matter to me if we finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th, if finishing 4th is enough for a CL spot and increased cup focus.

also don't need to worry about 4th place = qualifying play off anymore

Not yet. In all honesty, we can't shed the spursy tag until end of next season when we win 80% of the games we should win and mount serious title challenge where we actually get to the top of the pile on occasion. This season we have already choked repeatedly.

Absolutely agree. 2nd should be our target. We should not be targeting lower when 2nd is in sight.
