Not least, he now has a bit of an emotional affinity with the competition this year, given his debut goal, so he'll be motivated to protect that little milestone, & to keep his spot in the cup team. Second, with Harry out, we need all the goal threat we can muster, and he gives us that. Third, he's looked fresh as a daisy in his cameos so far, and we need to rotate anyway, so it's a very natural moment to start him. Etc. etc. A zillion reasons.
I think from now until the end of the season, Poch will be likely playing strong starting XIs regardless of the competition. All games from here on in must be won to ensure a place in the CL next season and a Trophy. So, we need to put our best foot forward.
Lloris
Tripps
Dier
Verts
Davies
Dembele
Wanyama
Eriksen
Moura
Son
Lamela
This is assuming Harry is out and Alli needs to be managed.
Vorm
Trippier,Foyth,Vertonghen,Davies
Dembele
Lamela, Eriksen
Lucas
Son, Llorente
I would play a diamond in middle with Dembele at base & Lucas at tip, behind Son & Llorente
I would keep Foyth in FA cup line up for this tie...he has not done much wrong till now- could be a good learning experience.
No room for rotating at this stage especially with no CL anymore and an international break too.....this game and the FA cup is massive play the strongest team possible.
I think yesterday was a sign that we need to start resting some of our players a bit more. Also, I would play Llorente because we don't know how much time we will be without Kane, and we might need either him or Son to step into the position.
