Just one of those games in which you just hope we recover well and learn from. Thought we could have altered ourselves to the threats of City but I'm not too downbeat at losing to such a team.

I'm not sure if this is a game that highlights shortcomings to our team that needs to be looked at or if it's a case of trying not to overreact too much. For instance Sanchez looked dodgy today but the last few games I think he's been immense. Maybe it's a bit of both.

Good to see Davies apologising to Kompany too in which was a poor tackle.

The better team won, we are not good ebought to compete with teams like Citeh.
Sorta true. But we didn’t help ourselves today. You have to be super sharp and aggressive in games like this. We were passive and messy in the first half, and struggled to get into much of a rhythm for the entire game. In short, we weren’t up for it. But on a day when we are totally switched on from back to front, we can best anyone in the world.

Expected the result. Been a great run and the important thing now is to maximise the decent run in that we have.

I have no idea how some here are thinking we played that badly.. We were in full control of the game start of 2nd half until their third goal. And they were shit with their finishing. Sterling is a joke. He missed so many chances he's lucky to still have the minutes.

All the lads put ij their best today but I'm not sure if Hugo can do better tbh.. One would really expect him as the captain to be more reliable.. But now Vert is really the most reliable one out there.

We cannot afford to have Hugo having some lapses at the back and Kane not even involved from the front.. Kane must play his natural game, if not he will just be getting isolated it is becoming too predictable... Kane oh Kane..

Us and the rest of the Prem dude. ;)
That's not exactly true though is it? Liverpool have gotten the better of them over the course of the season by pressing the life out of their midfield. We're capable of that kind of suffocating pressure, so where the hell has it been in any of our matchups with them?

seems to me we have rushed kane back as he wants the golden boot rather than because its in the best interest of the team, barely moved tonight, considering hes up against aging company he hasn't ran off him once

This. 100%. We cant indulge Kane’s chase for records over the team. We looked so dynamic against Bournemouth, SwAnsea and Chelsea before his return. Kane is definitely not fully fit. Hardly moved tonight

Man, I feel like crying. This is so limp.

Come on mate, did you honestly predict anything other than this result, and does it really bother you that much?

The days when I used to get upset over football and it’s ruin my whole weekend are long, long gone.

Our defence is so bad compared to last season. Selling this lot our best RB and then shutting out toby....it's just drepressing

Trippier and Davies have played well against the big teams but they’re also completely inadequate at times. Aurier needs a full preseason before we can judge him but with Rose still wanting out, bringing it 2 quality full backs is a must.

I agree, but don't see us catching pool, but if we finish 4th and that does happen we will be OK anyway as arse will just be given an extra 5th slot. not sure if it means we need to qualify though?

my main worry is tieing up 4th though, some fans think its done, I am not one of them, I still remember the end of our season in 2016

Cant believe how many times this has been gone over and over, and over and yet people still don't know

Basically there's little to no chance that finishing 4th doesn't put us in next season's cl group stage
