Man Utd have to be the best at playing poor football but winning games. They have a way of sucking the good football out of teams like leaches. By God they get it done though in the big games. So many trophies won over the years makes them a juggernaut too big for aspiring teams like us to stop.

I honestly think the best chance we have to win a trophy is by winning the League. At least we don't have those big knock out games to contend with. Just win those games we keep drawing against the weaker teams and we have a chance.
We can't and won't win the league

It is all about Utd then parking the bus and us then not having a fucking clue how to break down teams that do it well

In a one off game it’s not about breaking teams down, it’s about trying your hardest to force the issue.
Why not go 3 up top? Why not try something different? Why not act like you’re going out of a fucking semi final and try your hardest to force something.
Sorry frustration not aimed at you personally....

Even in spite of the fact this team having shown excellent character to come from behind in the past, it was clear the game was finished as soon as United scored. I felt my mood completely change and overall sense of dread come over me.

Probably a mixture of it being against a Mourinho team and being a Spurs fan. What's disappointing for me is that not even for one moment in that second half did I think we were going to win or equalise. Do the players feel that way too? Does Poch have the ability or tools to alter this mentality?

If we are to win something that's what it's going to come down too.

Poch, being the man he is, will probably learn from this and spend a summer reflecting and understanding what he needs to help us in these future situations. It really is a huge summer!

I'm pretty worried about us self destructing during the run in like 2016. The signs are all there for an implosion and our players need to put this behind them. If we bottle 4th and Chelsea sneak in there it's a doomsday scenario.

Professionalism for me is not saying you want to leave on the middle of a title fight.

On the pitch is about raising your game and giving that extra 20% or at least playing to your level. If every player played to their level then we would have won.

Teams go through bad patches, we hit ours at a bad time. 3 home losses which eliminated us from 2 comps
Plays the position we have put ourselves in for top four finish. Yes another lack luster performance. This is not looking good for top four finish. So no cups again and looking like we could well FeK up 4th. That would not be a good season to take into the new stadium, and to be honest I can see us starting with a few of the players we have now gone if we don’t finish at least in CL spot.

Agree, it's always been about the reward from their investment, not about trophies.

Thats why they are willing to watch one of Europes top defenders walk away from the Club, even though he was willing to stay.
From what we've heard he was holding the club to ransom...you do get that right?

We aren't defying the odds anymore, we just have really good players. I'm pretty sure apart from the odd off season we will be regular CL qualifiers over the next decade or so.
Not if we keep losing a player every season we wont, might even lose 2 in the summer we'll see.

But you can only keep pulling rabbits out of the hat for so long....

“To create that winning mentality, Tottenham need more time, with me or another, to keep developing that philosophy”

Firstly, sounds like Poch is considering his options

Secondly, what the fuck is he talking about. Fuck the philosophy. Go out and win games and you win trophies. Such a weird **** sometimes

Go and compare the wage bills and then come back.

Do you seriously believe we couldn't match Arsenal's wage bill if we wanted too? Since 1992 Arsenal has spent just under £750m on transfers compared to our £930m. Until recently Arsenal has invested their money a lot more wisely than we have - e.g. we essentially paid the same for an end of his prime Les Ferdinand that they paid for Overmars. The key difference between us and Arsenal is that when they had a team with top talent they were able to win trophies while we frittered away Popescu, Klinsmann, Campbell, Berbatov, Modric, Bale, etc.

Poch struggles with the answers in these big games and yes like you as soon as they equaliser went in I thought it was over, we left on 82 minutes as it was clear to the world that if we had played until Monday we probably wouldn't have even got into the six yard box.

We’ve just signed up to pay the highest ticket prices in world football.

Not me. I won't be paying to watch overpaid athletes ponce about when thousands upon thousands have worked to pay for the honour of supporting these greedy charlatans. My money is properly hard earned, those fuckers are getting no more from me!!!

Man Utd's time wasting really was exceptional, I would over to know how much they managed to shorten the second half by.

Mourinho's teams really mirror him perfectly, ugly as sin with nothing artistic about them.

We will be ok and limp over the line, I'm not worried about top 4 and our fixtures are kind. I know top 4 is important but for me today was a massive missed opportunity. For all the inconvenience of Wembley all year I really thought it would help us in the cups. Had such a good feeling for one of the domestic cups this year. Should have known better.

Sometimes I really think we're just an over-performing bunch of talented youngsters on their way to better things...

Elsewhere.
Ive said before we are where we are on luck.
NOBODY foresaw Alli and Kane being the players they are.
Take them out the team, as we'd never have bought players of that quality (we cant), and we'd be 7th 8th ish.
Bale went cosmic. Nobody could foresee that either and we bought Eriksen with the money.
However we got here we are now here and need to stop fucking about penny pinching with contracts and invest to go to the next level.
If we dont then the Liverpool and Arsenals of this world will and we'll never break back in imo.

I think this will be the much needed kick up the ass. One thing we are good at now is responding to bad patch. Only problem is the bad patches always effectively ruin our season

i think when you develop a good team its more about keeping what you have, investing more on the wages side and making maybe one key signing per season.

I'd honestly rather we kept our best players and didnt sign anyone than keep going round in circles all the time.

The key word is "feel" obviously I don't actually think we're cursed, I didn't think I needed to qualify my post with my disbelief in witchcraft.

But we're not legends either, you physically can't pull off some of the results we have in the last few years and be legends, it's impossible

You can however lose football matches and it can fucking hurt when you do, as happened today.
You simply cannot lose 8 semi-finals and pit it down to bad luck old boy it's more than that I have been to the last two and each occasion we have froze.
