Obviously I was there to. The only job he did was be abysmal. You need to take a chill pill Rodney. Be safe out there.
I'm not the one who needs to take a chill pill. What exactly was his job and in what way was he abysmal in that regard?

Was he bollocks. We were shit all night, he's a fucking busy DM, what did people expect, he'd come on and lift us to a higher plain of football?

Dier and Dembele were fucking atrocious. Slowing everything down, giving the ball away, letting Watford players run past them all night.

You're probably a lovely fella in real life, but the cyber you doesn't half talk some shite. And that goes for you @yankspurs with your "that's why Dier's been playing all season" shite. Its like you haven't watched the last 4 games of Dier dropping anchor and doing his Phil Jones in midfield impression.

In with taxes and death.

We really didn't control that game at all. I'll happily salute a grind where we control it, don't let the opposition have chances and sneak it, but that wasn't one of those. We had no tempo at all, didn't press them, were sloppy with the ball, let the game get open, let them open us up and not even on the break.

That was fucking dire.
I used the word "fucking" close to "Dier" quite often during the match.

I almost took a half-day vacation from work to watch this game. I still ended up watching it some on my work computer, and am extremely pleased with my decision not to.

Jan looked good from what I saw, and I'm happy Hugo is back in good form. Dembele's form/health is going to make the last 3 games a slog, though, and I wish Winks was fit. Maybe Eriksen should be dropped back further?

I just see a fresh on the pitch Wanyama getting done like he has played for about 6 hours whilst wading through concrete too often currently.

None of the three are really putting their hands up for selection in all truth, and Dier/Dembele are Poch's clear favourites so that pairing we all know will resume.

I’ve just watched Wanyama’s time on the pitch, because i started to doubt my own sanity.

I think he was absolutely fine, was busy, put himself about and did very little wrong and some decent things (won a couple of tackles, carried the ball forward to Kane for the Sissoko chance eg). The only moment like you described was on 71min when a ball was played across him to Dacoure and Davoure goes past him, but short of fouling him, he could do nothing, as Decoure was already to the right of him, and he couldn’t foul him because he’d already been given a ridiculous yellow for being kicked by a Watford player.

As for anyone calling him shit or “worse than Sissoko” - which is where I came in on this - it’s just fucking nonsense.

He’s no Busquets either, but I’d have him out there rather than Dier all day long.

Although we were disappointing, to put it mildly, we should have had two certain penalties (Son being pushed to the ground and the handball) and we would have won at a canter. Points are all that matter at this stage of the season and we got all three.

I’m relieved that we got the points, but it doesn’t paper over the cracks. This side has lost its shit. It no longer resembles the team that that we’ve enjoyed watching over the past few years. They’ve been getting more crap since and during parts of the Juventus game in all fairness.

Don’t know why, just a statement of fact.

Quick mention about the refereeing. Not sure who was worse him or us. I didn’t see the penalty shouts from my seat. I’ve maintained since the Liverpool game that we won’t get another one all season and that’s still looking likely. How bad were the decisions?

His all round officiating was poor though and I usually think he’s one of the better ones.

Important 3 points. Hopefully it'll take some of the pressure off them now after getting back to winning ways.
Mot sure it takes any pressure off. We still need to win both our home games! And on tonight’s performance I certainly wouldn’t say that was a Donedeal! Terrible performance but we badly needed the 3 points, but I am afraid not to take the pressure off, but more to stay in it.
On paper it looks like we should have it, but also on paper Newcastle and Leicester are better teams than Watford but we struggled tonight against them, so who knows how we will do against supposedly better opposition.
But football is a strange old game. You only have to look at West Bromwich to see that, looks like they are relegated but they are playing out of there skins! Don’t see us getting anything there the way we played tonight!
So no for me the pressure is not off and I hope Poch is telling the team that and they really need to improve if we are going to get that CL spot.
What would be fantastic is to go to

It was a shite game all round, and we got lucky. We played some lovely football at times, with some sublime touches and movement from everyone... Problem was that those passages of play were nearly all let down by some woeful passes... And everyone was guilty. Thankfully Watford were even more shite and let us win.

I think as far as the crowd goes, everyone is just sick of Wembley now and want to get back home. I for one can't bloody wait to not have to go over there again.
I hope you don't mean the last sentence literally, because even if the ground is sold it will still host Cup Finals so for that reason I hope we go back there 3 times next season.

I think the pens would have been soft. The handball especially. His arm is down, it’s accidental and he’s got no time to react.

But Oliver booking Wanyama after he’s been raked by Richarlison’s studs is laughably inept.

We have all been saying for years that we'd love to win when we're putting in underwhelming performances like some of the usual suspects have been doing for decades and who manage to get over the line, if Man Utd had done what we did last night as they often do, we all be moaning and saying why can't we do that and get away with it. Well it wasn't a great watch I think we can all agree on that but we got the 3 points. In years gone by we would have lost that 2-1 or let slip the lead and dropped two points with a draw.

When people say last night was poor by spurs i think what you mean is it was poor by our very recent high standards. If it was properly poor we would have lost and not scored 2 goals.

You can guarantee that Leicester will turn up against us, they always do. I've no worries we'll beat WBA and Newcastle.

Can't quite put my finger on what's gone on, maybe the media scrutiny is getting a bit much, the uncertainty surrounding Poch and his garbled interviews when asked about leaving. Somethings clearly got into the players heads. Need to get this season done and dusted.

Thought the ref was poor last night though, has to be said.

Not sure about that, Leicester have been pretty bad recently.
