I’m not sure what this means? Really worries me that our new stadium will have large sections of people who pick and choose what games to attend, especially if tickets are already paid for.
There will always be games that don't sell out, no team sells out hundred percent of games throughout the season and 53,000 is a fair gate, to be honest I think some people were too pussy to face the game last night.:sneaky:

Maybe he's still got the Liverpool in him and feels diame should've had a pen when he assaulted trip

I did immediately think, 'You can take the man out of Liverpool but...'.

Good to know I didn't miss something else obvious whilst trying to watch our game and Chelsea simultaneously.

No two ways about it, we were a bit jammy last night. Newcastle deserved a point and had the better of the clear chances. Also, after seeing some of the Chelsea highlights they seemed a bit unfortunate.

All I can say about that is it’s about fucking time.

I think all the London teams experience a dip in attendance/demand for midweek games, as so many of the fans live and work in different locations from where the teams are based. Certainly the Goons have had that problem for a while. Personally think 55k+ for a midweek game is a decent turnout, but it looks poor at a 90k stadium. Speaking from personal experience, this season if I wanted to get to Wembley for a midweek game I have to either leave work early or work from home for the day. When we're back in Tottenham my travel time will be halved and midweek games will become more accessible to me.

Furthermore, even the biggest clubs don't often sell out - I went to the Nou Camp a few weeks ago for Barcelona vs Valencia. No idea what the official attendance was but it looked like there was only about 50,000 there, and that was a Saturday afternoon.

Fantastic achievement to get CL football once again after a season without a home. As someone said, if we finish 3rd it's the best run of consecutive league finishes since Bill Nic. Not bad for a manager described in this very thread as 'clueless' and a 'clown'.
I haven't followed the thread, because I was at the match. Some people's dislike of Poch and others is linked to xenophobia, given their other dislikes on social media. To call him a clown and clueless just reflects what they are.

His team selection last night has been described as 'idiotic' by some wannabe pundits it the ratings thread...some of the posters on this site actually believe they know better than people who've been employed professionally in the sport at the very highest level for decades....that will never, ever stop being funny to me.

We was lucky last night a few weeks back I think we would have won with a comfortable scoreline but of late the team has for whatever reason limped over the line, but at least we got there and to do it without our normal home makes it a better achievement if we had been at the lane I think we may have finished second.

I have a lot of respect for Poch but I think it's perfectly valid to question a CM pairing of Sissoko and an out of form Wanyama in a must win game. Idiotic isn't a word I'd use but he's certainly made a few questionable decisions including formations and subs. We were very lucky to bag 3 points last night and even luckier that Huddersfield did us a massive favour.

Dier was ill. Winks is injured. So is Dembele. What other midfield partnership would people recommend?

Eriksen spent half the game dropping deep because Sissoko and Wanyama weren't showing for the ball. Eriksen could have started there instead of Sissoko with Lamela further forward. Alternatively, Foyth is a much more composed player than Sissoko and can actually pass to a team mate.

What it highlighted last need was the need to reinforce the squad with more options for the start of the new season along with players back from long term injury such as winks.

I think people are just fed up with Wembley, it's a real pain to get to from work through the London rush hour. The Lane will be better.

But this is the bit that makes me laugh, you're making it sound like the solution is so simple and obvious yet a guy who has circa 40 years of experience managing and playing at elite level has somehow overlooked it...
He obviously makes his team selections and subs/etc based on hundreds of factors, the likes of which you, me and everyone else on here probably don't even know exist, let although have used in casting judgement.
Yet you get the clowns in the ratings thread who seriously believe they know better, and would do a better job lol.

Yes, its a forum, yes its a place for opinions, but some on here need to just wind their necks in a bit, thats all i'm saying....You dont just qualify for the CL for 3 consecutive years by making idiotic, or even questionable decisions im afraid.

I know people have difficulties but you overcome them if what you’re getting to is important. 42,000 season ticket holders need to have getting to see Spurs high in their list of priorities or else we'll start to see pockets of empty seats. It’s a bad habit to get into. I’ve been at this for 20 years and apart from financially putting the cup games to one side in the last couple of years I feel it’s my duty to turn up in all weathers and circumstances. I missed the Watford game through illness. Doubt I’d need a second hand to count the amount of times that’s happened in 2 decades.

So, given that Dier was picking up at home, Dembélé was injured along with Winks, who would you have put in midfield? Sissoko did a reasonable job, in fact completing the tasks required of him; Wanyama was OK, too. The reason we played badly was nerves, not unexpected. Chelsea got lucky against Southampton, but their luck ran out last night.
