Why on Earth would we stump up 30m when Villa are facing a winding up order? They can't pay their tax bill, have already borrowed against next season's parachute payment, and have hit their overdraft limit. If they don't get funds within days they could actually be looking at doing a Portsmouth or a Leeds. They're so desperate for an immediate injection of money that I could see us getting him for half that if we pay it all in one lump sum.

If he's who Poch wants? Sure.

30M in today's market is not equivalent to what it was in years past.
No way we're dumping 30mil on a championship player who's team is about to go bankrupt and would be nowhere near our starting lineup. I think its a waste of money regardless of how much he costs. We have Lamela to play backup 10 why do we need another one?

I never said we would pay 30M for him.

For the love of Christ I hope Grealish isn’t a Martial alternative

Might be a cheaper alternative to Pulisic, as i think we were after both him and Martial, allows more funding for Martial, as has been stated we may have to get creative for certain deals.

You said you would be happy if we spent up to 30 mil.. That would be horrible.
Yea but then that seemed to get turned around into "we're paying 30M for him?" when I was merely saying what I thought the going rate could be for him in this market.

With Villa's financial situation I THINK he'll go 15-20M. 15M would be a really good bit of business for him.

Doubtful. I just hope he's not one of the two midfield players we're planning on signing and we're just taking advantage of a bad situation for Villa.

Has less to do with Villa, and everything to do with who else might be in for him.

After watching the play off final, he was one of the stand outs for me. He can easily find a way past a player, a bit like Mousa. Reckon he'll be a decent signing.

#avfc stave off immediate threat of administration by promising HMRC £1.2m by end of week -half the total debt. Paid £500k earlier today. Club guarantee remaining £1.2m will be paid quickly. Xia will sell club for right price, but prefers to stay in charge and get new investment.
