I watched a fair bit of the stream. Looked impressive to me and will make good back up to Eriksen on that appearance. Don’t see how he could play CM as some are hoping though

As long as he doesn't get injured a run out is great for us. I have a feeling we will need him to be ready from day one and he may have a similar impact to Alli.

Do you realise that Dembele had the best dribbling stats in Europe not so long ago? Grealish, on the other hand, has shown he's above average at beating Championship players.
I'm not saying Grealish would be a bad signing, but he's currently not even close to Dembele's ability (and isn't suited to playing in the same role).
Dembele is a one off no one else plays like he does. Would rather have a player who can see a pass. Dembele end product is usually nil.

Bank account is likely empty, we won't sign anyone until a player is sold or about to be sold. Wouldn't surprise me if we're waiting for the stadium sponsorship deal to be finalised too before we commit to spending and how much.

Sounds pessimistic but we only spend what we receive and I've not seen any evidence of that changing. Until I see a sale being close I'm not going to assume a purchase, safer that way so not disappointed.

Do you really think that any transfer business is dependent on us getting stadium sponsorship deal ?

The likelihood is we won't have a stadium sponsor for quite a while.

Spurs will already have a sizeable transfer kitty but we have a limit on how many non homegrown players we have in our squad. As it stands we have one too many so we do need to offload one or two to make space.

Its not a question of us having no money.

Nah not reliant upon it, more having ducks in a row regarding everything. Yeah it sounds pessimistic but I'm not intending it to be its just how we operate. If we are intending on funding transfers with certain sales they'll have to be all aligned otherwise if for some reason a sale collapsed it'll mean we're in a position that the club clearly don't feel comfortable with.

I'd love us to go spend 100m on players then claw that money back through sales but we clearly don't and never have done it like that.

I can't believe we haven't signed him yet. It's one thing not being able to sign a superstar or a player participating in the world cup, but this dude should be a fairly straight forward transfer. I'm not saying do a leeds, but just open up the purse strings a bit to satiet the fans for a time. I'm beginning to feel this could be another 'the goal posts were moved' transfer window.

The point I'm trying to get across is that we aren't reliant on stadium naming rights or player sales for us to have available transfer funds.
We will have a sizeable transfer kitty already in place but we have to make space in our squad particularly with non home grown players potentially coming in.

140 pages on Grealish, worst window ever, haha
Yeah this is all getting a bit tedious now to be honest. The fact that we can't wrap up a deal for a Championship player who wants to join us from a club in financial dire straights in a timely manner tells you all you need to know. It's detrimental. Find it hard to accept all the stuff about Levy getting the best deal possible and not compromising. Really don't understand how the insistence on shaving a few percentages off the fees involved is better for the club than getting targets in early.

Really hoping we have a week of wrapping 2-3 signings up in quick succession this week tbh, starting with this one (and actually announcing them when they’re done, unlike the Gazzaniga farce)

I want more bullshite links, Thiago A, Kovacic, Tielemens, more Rabiot & NDombele, something to get the juices flowing.

We all know we still need to wait till the bigger spenders have checked out before its our go, but even on signings like Grealish who could, if fully fit with a Poch pre-season, really help out before our A listers like CE, DH catch up... we need to fck abaaat
