You don't buy players just because someone in your team hasn't had a pre season.
Of course not, this was an answer to Neon_knights assumtion that Dembele would be ready for the start of the season.

We still have Dembele!
Wow. That's some next level BSoDL'ing there. It's all Poch's fault. Best sequence of league finishes in my lifetime playing great football, but 'not very good' if he doesn't get a trophy..
Poch is holding his own against much much richer teams with his arms tied behind his back, even as we get ever more TV and sponsorship money which he'll never see.
This x1,000,000The only pathetic thing I'm seeing is the behaviour of some of our fans that have no self-control, have fully bought in to some of the early ITK about big spending without applying salt and now act as though they've been promised something they aren't going to get. We're all frustrated by the lack of activity in the market at the moment but some of the posts in here are nothing short of a disgrace. This forum is no fun at all to come on lately with all this vitriol in every thread. Personally can't wait for this window to shut.
Don't read anything in to it, it is what it is.Do you know what i'm reading in to this.... sneaky bid for Lallana...
Bollocks is it. You're trying to apply the Guardiola rule to Poch whereby it's only possible to win a trophy with the best squad. Ramos and Graham managed it with much worse.
FWIW I think a bunch of you are worrying about things far more then Poch is, but if you think he'd walk because he couldn't have a £70m player then you've not been paying attention to him. He's not Mourinho
Don't read anything in to it, it is what it is.
Never knew we had so many speech psychologists in one place.
Nothing has been said to prove or disprove Poch wanting one thing, club doing another, more like Poch not wanting to add anymore fuel to the media and fan base hype, by saying nothing after Donnas interview.
This old Donna has had to come out to be political, and all this Levy v Poch nonsense is rubbish. Donna was at a charity event, and is interviewed all the time, except this one was decided to be aired because of media bias or people’s agendas to spin the quotes to create a story.
The issue here is that the PL has mucked English clubs up. Yes, shut the window before season starts, but only enforce this inline with other leagues. Now clubs have to pay over inflated prices for English players like it has always been, but also now in the European markets, as they can afford to wait until after our window closes to get higher offers from other leagues.
There’s taking Risks then there’s just stupidity. Risks can be taken in context about anything, who says it has to be in the transfer market. It could be, promoting youth, as we are seeing 2 high prospects leave the club, it could be breaking out wage structure to keep our best players I.e. Kane etc. Why should or does Poch need to explain it more when the first time has been taken out of Context, and explaining it again is only opening up the same and not going to stop the media’s agenda.
It’s also disheartening that our ITKs are also adding to it, with “fasten your seatbelts” which can be reposted at anytime to back up a flurry of positive news, or negative news, it’s win win.
Also to know what’s in Pochs contract only Levy, Poch, agent and lawyers would know. How on earth can a “Not being backed” clause be included is beyond me.
What is being backed? It’s subjective and not black and white and interpreted differently from different people.
Is it, if we don’t get Neymar, Bale or the likes of I can walk? Is it, if we don’t spend over x amount of millions so can walk? Is it we must improve our midfield I can walk? Poch could say we hadn’t done these things, yet Levy could say, “well I’ve bought you Him, him and him and extended contracts and kept him and him”. It’s not a feesible clause and would never be able to have in a contract and Levy a savy business man would never have such a wishy washy clause in a legal contract.
Sorry I’m all in for ITK, and thanks for passing on the details, but let’s not mix facts from bias.
It’s a good idea it’s just needs to be at very least Europe wide.Just to clarify the PL haven't fucked anything up for the clubs. The clubs voted for this to happen, including Levy. In essence they collectively got it very wrong.
The issue is it being put to a vote aside from the situation across the rest of Europe.Just to clarify the PL haven't fucked anything up for the clubs. The clubs voted for this to happen, including Levy. In essence they collectively got it very wrong.
I don't know what the situation is at Pool but what I do know is they are trying to shift a lot of fringe players and as of yet they can't.

100% agree on this. First season I've been following the site over the summer and I get more dubious about the ITK contributions by the day.
I wonder what the repercussions would be if a club ended up with players that it physically couldn't register in any competition. Has that ever happened? Apart from youngsters, I mean.Scenario...we go out and buy 3 players costing between 120 and 150 mil on the basis we can recoup most of that on the sales of Toby Dembele and Rose. Window closes hurrah we have been Brave!!!
No bids come in for those players but we get a 150mil bid for Kane with a couple of days left, now what do you think will happen knowing we need to balance the books?

We have seen over the last 3 seasons that we are a top team but not quite good enough to win the league and all of our rivals have strengthened their teams with between 2-5 players while we have brought in nobody and seem to be getting the "it's a tough market" excuse ready. I'll wait and see but it really is starting to feel like the usual Levy tactic of wait till the last minute to try and get a good deal. I think with that and the way we lost Grealish, Poch would likely entertain offers in a years time since it would be obvious that the promises made mean nothing and the support isn't there. I recall a while back it was said Poch wants to build a dynasty but if the club won't bring in the players needed to raise the level and win the league, he won't be able to do that with us.
We don't have the pull or the money that our top 6 rivals have. The deck is stacked against us. We have to wait, or go after players that they won't want for fear of being blown out of the water when agents alert other clubs.
We haven't signed Grealish because we didn't want to, not because we can't.
