You're probably right, however...

"It's still a bit like deciding between a kick in the sack or a knee in the sack but IF he goes, I would actually rather see him at Chelsea rather than Spurs. There is little rational logic behind it other than I hate Spurs and Levy more than I hate Chelsea"

"Terrible for Jack's career but would be funny to piss Levy off."

other teams fans hate us, because of the way we are run, because they keep fucking up with new owners.

tell me 1 club other than Arsenal, that has built a stadium as big as ours without hitting total financial meltdown, you won't because none have been able to look at that route, they still have stadiums they had 50-60years ago but with seats in them, then we have the training facilities and also gained access to CL football without spending 100+m every season.

not exactly jealousy because they if in the same place would like many expect to be spending silly money like many in here, but a lot of envy barr the likes of Man U, because even though in heavy debt are still a very rich, and 1 of the biggest followed clubs in the World, Man C or Chelsea because they can buy success, Liverpool & Arse because their history.

Buying a big name or a player that fits the system should not be mutually exclusive. There should be someone who does both

Semantics here but why SHOULD there? It would be great if one did. Doesn't have to be though. End of the day you want someone who fits into your system and improves the team. Nothing about that has to be a big name player.

When Kante was bought for Leicester, he wasn't a big name player but was exactly what they wanted and allowed their system to flourish. Just need the right parts, even if it's not a household star signing or big name. Just the right name.

Might as well drag this out until deadline day at this point.

The actual info hitting the media at the moment is not painting the club in a good light at all.

Would be a good time to play that Eriksen contract trump card if true...

Will be friday morning him dele and jan all new deals haha

This is turning into bit of a joke. If we've started talking again, that means we're keen on him. If we're so keen, why didn't we wrap this up ages ago when Villa were in trouble and needed the money? We've fucked ourselves over with this one.

because the way I understood Villa held it up, then got out of their main trouble, now they have 2 choices wait until Monday or Tuesday next week waiting to be offered as much as possible in 1 big payment to allow themselves to nick a couple of cheapie players and not break FFP, or they don't buy or sell and hope the same team can get them up there but have to sell in January to beat the FFP rules

And all big company’s will also at some point spend to make more

in football there are no guarantees, Chelsea have spent a fortune on players that never worked out, so have Man U, City and many more

our previous 3-4 (bar Sanchez) record signings have turned out to be flops, even though Lamela has had his moments, overall he hasn't been value for money.

all the players we have bought, when been scouted have looked a lot better than they have when they put the shirt on, but now no one will buy them off us

Honestly wish I had the strength to not check this site every 5 seconds thinking something has happened since I closed it:unsure:
Will be good to see whether or not he starts their first game of the season. Still think we end up paying what they want and it will be worth it. Think Poch and levy see the value in a talented home grown player who hasn’t completely fulfilled his potential yet (y)

Maddison is better than grealish and younger. He went for cheaper...
I know these things are a matter of opinions, but I personally think Grealish is the much better player, both now & in the future.

Only time will tell I guess.

Yup. For better or worse, that's when it's happening.

My guess is we'll try for:
- an offload of peripheral players
- Grealish
- Martial/Toby swap
- possibly another long shot

My guess is we'll
- end up with Grealish, probably for more than we would have otherwise - somewhere in the 25 to 30 mark
- a loan for VJ, possibly for GKN as well
- never get there on Toby/Martial. We might sell Toby but Utd will stand firm on Martial and sell him to PSG

I think the others will fall through.

You can call it a tough market if you want but the above would represent a total fiasco, and I think would, absent something extraordinary (big moves in Jan, an unexpectedly good league performance) result in Poch leaving at the next offer of something big, probably to Utd

At present, this is a total c*ck up

Why embarrassing? He is trying to get us to overpay. Why would we? We’ll deal as we need to deal in the circumstances, not come along with the lube and our pants pulled down.
It's embarrassing because in all honesty we can't even complete deals for players i don't even rate. We have had the whole window to complete this and the best rate we would of got is before they got taken over.
