See I hate this attidue, he's better than our worst player, lets spunk 30 mill on him.

Nope, it just highlights if we were willing to spend £30m on Sissoko we shouldn't haggle paying £30m on Grealish.

Prices have inflated since that window too.

Villa aren't happy we haven't met the valuation and fishing for buyers at £30m maybe. If no takers, they may get desperate on deadline day. They still have to sell some players to make up FFP.

The Grealish situation has been going on for so long that I feel like he's due a contract extension.

No it just highlights that was a terrible purchase, doesn't justify spunking money up the wall.

In the current market £25m with add ons is perfectly reasonable for a young, highly rated English player with bags of potential. Perhaps two or three years ago it may have seemed a lot but the market has changed.

Might as well drag this out until deadline day at this point.

The actual info hitting the media at the moment is not painting the club in a good light at all.

Would be a good time to play that Eriksen contract trump card if true...

Something feels really off about this deal. Thing is we got Dele for 5mill, how much is the boy worth now? I have seen some of him and he looks a good prospect and I think Poch could have him playing for England like Dele sooner rather than later.
30mill just seems quite a large outlay, but in the grand scheme of things and with the transfer market the way it is, its probably around right?-ish. As I say tho something seems off.

We are so shite at transfer dealings. I bet Levy is offering a free xmas hamper, free petrol for a year, we'll valet their ground for them for 12 months, shite like this. What IS going on.

If we want Grealish, it's going to cost £30m - there are players in the Championship like Benik Afobe going for £13m (who? exactly) Tom Ince went for £12m, James Maddison went for £25m...

It's just what the rate is now - we're not going to get Grealish for £15-20m like we hoped.

Maddison is better than grealish and younger. He went for cheaper...

Just find it very difficult to get excited by Grealish. He may well turn out to be an astute purchase but he hardly gets the pulses racing before a new season. We are so close to being a really top team, I heard Harry say on radio that Tottenham can only buy to improve squad as first team is so good. I think that is bollocks, the fact we have such a good team and very decent squad should gives us the freedom to blow our budget on 1 or 2 special players that might be the game changer(s) we need.
What’s our motto again?

If it wasn't for the fact they seem to absolutely hate us on there for some reason (jealousy?) I'd feel sorry for them.

A big club, now fighting to win Promotion in the Championship for the last 3 seasons with loads of debt and FFP regulations about to slap them up.

They won't win it again this year, I'm shit at gambling and have bet on them for the 3rd season running to get promoted:LOL:

And I think that right there is the problem in a nutshell. We the fans want a big name signing, Poch wants a player who fits his system, will fit in to this Spurs side and do the job he is required to do, regardless of name. The best players have to start somewhere to become great players. Or own Harry was not a great player and was written off, also see Gareth Bale.

Buying a big name or a player that fits the system should not be mutually exclusive. There should be someone who does both
