It's his fitness record with soft tissue injuries in the last 2 seasons too, not just his age.
I know this. However, he only missed 8 league games in first two seasons.

And last season he played the start, got injured (doesn't make a player injury prone) and then couldn't get back in after the fall out. I just wonder how bad it actually was last season.

So being brave apparently means strengthening our rivals and hoping for the best. Brilliant.

On the other hand, at least we'll finally get to find out what he did that made Poch write him off. Every cloud.
We’ll probably never find out what Toby did

So. Much. Whinging.

Toby was always going to Man U. No other team in Europe was ever gonna pay £60m for a 29 yr old defender. So we had to take the cash from them. Hopefully this now allows to go and spend money in the areas that strengthen us.

The £60m for him I can live with, I don’t think it’s as great as others are saying but it’s reasonable in this market.
It’s that now we don’t have enough time left in the window to use this and whatever other cash we have available for transfers, particularly for any real top quality signings anyway.

As others have said, you assume we haven’t been working on top quality signings before selling Toby. I don’t think that is the case. The market is slow. You’ll see most business done over the next few days from all clubs.

I'm trying to stay optimistic, the problem I have is about the time for other teams to find replacements. That is, I'm assuming its like buying a house there's a chain to it?

Possibly. I guess if we’ve already been speaking to the selling clubs we’ll know if they need replacements first and then make a decision on whether to risk waiting rather than moving on to other options.

Selling Toby to Manure for circa £60m is absolutely no problem to me but what irks me is why can they say they dun wan Martial to move this way while we have to bend over for them?

Toby + £20m will be a fair deal for all parties.

Just due to the fact they stopping Martial this direction makes the £60m not worth it.

Fuck me the lynch mob is out big time.
Guys all need to chill just a little for a few days. Lets wait until the window is closed before getting the pitchforks out!
Every ITK has said the lay of the land is MUCH different this window.
Lets just wait and see. I'll be as pissed as anyone if we fuck this window up royally, but lets wait guys.
For what its worth if we need to sell Toby to Utd so be it. 60 large is a hell of a fee. Lets see what Baldy can do with it.

That makes sense, I have no clue how clubs communicate on these things.....could be why deals take so long. Theres a bloody long queue to sell/buy.

If we sell him without getting Martial back we better have a seriously fucking good set of deals lined up otherwise my faith in Levy in the transfer market is at absolute zero. Grealish and Zaha won’t cut it.

Good that we're planning to sell to another rival, maybe he'll be like Walker and help his team finish 23 points ahead of us.

There is no defendable reason to sell him to United.

"chill out, the windows still open" was a fair arguement a month ago, there's 4 days left now, its a disgrace to be honest the way we have ended up, a shambles.. 60m for Toby I can't really argue with but to be where we are now is shocking

Levy will do what Levy does. Sell to Utd
On this occasion £60m for a potentially injury weakened CB who has had a ruck with the club is no problem.
Always thought he would be too weak to get Martial as part of the deal.

No sane person is arguing that, but will we sign another player for 60 million to replace him? Will we fuck.

Naff me we spent £42m on his replacement last summer. Foyth now moves up the order surely.

Oh right, so when it looked like we were showing ambition by breaking our transfer record for Sanchez last summer, in fact what we were doing was just spending two thirds of Toby's future transfer fee a year early. Naff me. Clever Levy, he even got some change.

Not good enough.
