The Sissoko deal was 30 in full with Payments, no getting out of that one....

Yes £30m in full - my maths went wrong. Paid £12m so far. £18m outstanding. If a club bids that or more then we will sell and hand the £18m over to Newcastle.

Example: Wolves come in and bid £22m. We accept. We pay NUFC £18m that's left and pocket the other £4m in effect meaning we've only spent £8m of our own money on him.

If the ITK is correct, we won’t be handing over money to Newcastle. We would just continue to pay them in instalments.

Unless they suddenly needed the money and offered us a reduced payment to settle up the total outstanding. A bit like when we bought out Bale’s sell on fee.

It is really sad that grown men are so happy that two players bought by OUR club may be moving on. Both Janssen and Mousa Sissoko may leave but instead of receiving thanks for your efforts, just get told to jog-on, feck off or something similar.
This makes us as supporters look like complete wankers. Lets not lower ourselves to this level and step above it.
Both of these players have tried, worked hard and put in as much as they could. Maybe now we can/ should get better quality- this could be a great 3 days.

Not as simple as that. Sissoko will want either his contract paid up or a payment to leave and of course his agent will want his share.

Reading the posts on this page I thought there was something substantial. Have I missed something or is it just supposed bids for Sissoko and Janssen?

Sorry to sound like Mr. Negative but I'll only be happy when that actually happens. It's too late in the window to be getting excited by hope for me, I'm wanting to see things being completed.

Agreed but at least things appear to be moving in the right direction.

1. Poch has always been complimentary of Sissoko, and it speaks volumes that he's still here despite the fact that we have a coach that will send you to Turkey if you don't train to death. I will always cheer for Sissoko (though I will groan at his touches).

2. Janssen was criticized by Poch for not training hard, and he gave an interview where he said he considered himself a Fenerbache player and wanted to stay there. Jog-on

You know, I find today's ITK a bit sad. I feel that both Sissoko and Janssen have been badly treated. The former by the fans, the latter by the club.

In terms of Janssen, there was no doubting he worked hard and the talent he had before he came didn't just vanish overnight. We gave three seasons to Lamela to come into form. Janssen is extremely young and I felt he deserved another season, but what's done is done I guess.

Sissoko's treatment by the fans I feel has been an absolute disgrace. Yes he's not the best, but at least he has been trying. Take Alderweireld, despite the fact that he's apparently behaved disgracefully behind the scenes, even now criticism of him is mealy mouthed at best. In contrast Sissoko has not disrespected the club or fans and has knuckled down and tried, and has improved during his time with the club (granted not enough to compete in ability with some of the rest of the squad, but that is besides the point). The player has worn the shirt and contributed to many wins, whether people like it or not. Any player who plays for the club, tries and maintains respect for the club and fans deserves fair treatment and to be backed. You simply can't say the fans have been fair to him. If the ITK is true and he's off I for one will thank him for his service, and while he'll likely never see this post, I apologise for the abuse he has received on behalf of those who treated him as the fall guy every week.

Think this debate should move to the Sissoko thread, however having said that - I think fans have actually been pretty supportive of Sissoko at Spurs games, it's only online that people moan about him. Yes it's sung with irony, but he even has his own song!

That’s not what it sounded like from my seat.

Fingers crossed we actually get some movement soon. Don’t want to run out of time again...

Debating Sissoko's utility to the team is impossible, since one side is so convinced of his terribleness that they take it to a cartoonish degree, which leaves the other side feeling like they have to overcompensate. I don't mind him on the squad and he seems like a nice enough guy personally, but putting effort into explaining my rationale feels like hustling backwards.

On the other hand, I am somewhat excited by the Lobotka link. Don't know a ton about him to be honest, but the underlying stats make him seem intriguing. I wonder if Poch is a fan; 5'7" seems a bit short for a manager who seems to like to pack the field with athletes.
