On the contrary, I just think he is already extracting the maximum from this existing squad of players. 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, indicates that. We can't quite get over the line and we need more quality.

I think some Spurs fans have got overly confident and bullish based on our recent seasons, they think we have a stronger squad than we do, I really really fear for our CM and we are still in the same situation, god forbid Kane get's injured.

I understand where you're coming from, though I disagree but I'm happy to admit I too am concerned about our central midfield. I do, however, have faith that there are solutions within which our manager can see and we can't.

Guardiola moved Silva and De Bruyne into an 8/10 pivot with a DM behind them to compensate for the fact that Toure (I guess City's version of Dembele but much better) couldn't hack it any more and there wasn't an obviously suitable ready made replacement. Next think you know, they play the best football in the league having been quite stale under Pelligrini for the previous season. If our manager is as good as we think he is, there'll be a solution in there somewhere, that's why he's paid £8m per year and we're arguing on a message board.

We all have our moments :ROFLMAO:;)

I flew too close to the sun :dummy:

Well then you need to read his post again because he said not one of their players would make our squad, It's also been said that transfer windows don't win titles look at leicester, well leicester signed Kante. It also goes to show that two players can elevate an entire squad. Irritates me when people say it's mis-represented when i've replied to the literal words that were posted.
I didn't say you mis-represented anything, I said that he mis-represented his point. Maybe Lucas could be the player that elevates us.

Actually I said side, maybe you need to read my post again as you've clearly not replied to the literal words that were posted.

I will admit that I forgot Kante, but Mahrez making our side? When was the last time Pochettino picked an impetuous sod who defies club orders and sulks at the first hint of not getting his way?

No other ITKs are on this yet, no real media traction either. So little time left.

Such a confusing window.

At this point of time when we are selling our key players instead of adding quality, I am not only emotional, confused and frustrated. I think most of us felt betrayed with all the empty promises and gutless approach to the transfer window. Fuck u again Levy!

But is Toby still a key player for Poch?

If the rumors are true, which virtually all the ITKs have hinted at, that Toby and Poch have had a major falling out, then Toby probably isn't a key player anymore as far as Poch is concerned

I think you're being pedantic, I meant that they'd both make our first 11, Poch signed Osvaldo in the past and I'm absolutely of the opinion that Mahrez would get into our first 11, I maintain your original point was revisionism which you admitted when saying you forgot about Kante. I also believe that we can't look at the Leicester season as justification for our faultering window because it was an outlier and a perfect storm, as I said the top teams now have their shit in order, they certainly did not that season.

How can someone say something is unbelievable if they're literally saying it is currently happening, therefore must be in the realms of belief. I have noticed across several recent posts by Gards, he has exceptionally poor use of the English language.

Leicester one the title without not one player in their squad who would make our side.

Signings aren't everything, coaching, player familiarity and general positive attitude play a huge part too.

You know, all these people screaming for signings must not think much of our manager if they think he isn't good enough to do anything with our current excellent crop of players.

If Sanchez is injured, who can we play there against top 6 or in UCL? We are weaker and tactically limited. I give up.

For the last few years, every summer it’s been said spurs will drop out of the top floor because the big sides have their shit in order. Maybe, just maybe, our shit is already in order and that’s why every year we prove the doubters wrong.

On the other side of the fence, my United supporting mate says he think they will sign Maguire, and it sounds more likely than Toby (who he'd prefer) from what he's hearing at Uniteds end.

Now talk of Boateng on loan. Even though he rejected them previously. Still feel they are trying to make Levy bite.

If Toby is really off to United, it'll be one of the weirder transfers. Obviously, we've heard all the rumors, but he's been super professional about it all, is currently taking green screen photos with the team, and is in training right up until deadline day.

Also, if it's really just £40m, I'd rather either 1. Keep him and take the £15m hit next summer, or 2. Sell him to PSG for a £35-40 after the domestic window closes.

Why do you keep trying to convince people, in transfer threads no less, not to care about whether we sign anyone? And that anyone bemoaning a lack of signings doesn't have faith in the manager?

Genuine question. It's a sisyphean task and, depending on how we do this season, a pyrrhic victory.

I’ve not once told people not to care about lack of transfers, merely tried to encourage them to behave their age about the whole thing. I’ve even admitted, multiple times, my frustration at the lack of activity, but that in no way eradicates my belief that having a tantrum over something which we have no ability to measure is just plain daft.

Until we’re roughly 20/25 games into the season, barring a complete Ramosesque disaster, it is impossible to have justification to behave the way some on here are behaving.

I’ve not once said I’m happy with our lack of dealing, all I’ve done is try to introduce a bit of decorum to proceedings and also put myself in the shoes of those at our club who are trying to do these deals. Additionally, I’m trying to emphasise and re-emphasise the fact that whatever happens, we still possess the same excellent players who have brought us so much joy in recent seasons and they’ll be even better for a year’s more familiarity as well as personal development, which could hopefully also be said of our manager.
