A few million......:D Pocket change

In football terms it was close and with him apparently kicking off and no other incomings, I'm a bit surprised we didn't push that deal through. Obviously don't know the details though...

I would like a statement from the club, I think, explaining things, considering how much money I've spent on one of the most expensive season tickets in world football...

You can watch Sissoko spraying passes around the pitch from the Sky Bridge now

17/18 Transfers
In Aurier Out Walker
Squad improved: No
In Sanchez Out Wimmer (Toby injured/benched)
Squad improved: Meh (Toby is the better CB)
In Llorente Out Janssen
Squad improved: No (Llorente didn't contribute)
In Foyth Gazza Out Bentaleb Fazio
Squad improved:No (Foyth didn't contribute)
In Moura Out Nkoudu Ngie
Squad improved: Yes (but didn't contribute)
Overall did additions improve the playing squad or contribute to last season.... Honestly no.

You could say the same with 16/17 with the exception of Wanyama

I would say holding onto Toby and Dembele alone makes this arguably a good window.
I 100% agree we had a chance to kick on with quality signings, but pointless bringing in the same dross for the sake of it. Grealish, meh I'd prefer have winks.

So, the club decided it wasn’t worth adding to the squad with the players available - fair enough really.

Poch has said it’s not worth buying players for the sake of it.

Lots of people on here have been saying yes to Grealish, but at the right price...
Yes to zaha but not for 80m or whatever...
Seems like the club agrees...

Fans always lament not signing players because it’s exciting to do so and it feels like missing out.

I’m not sure who we’ve missed out on which is breaking everyone’s balls?!

Can’t wait for the new season - COYS!!!

It's a weird thing. The bottom line is we really could have done with 1 or 2 new players. At the same time, the transfer window as turned a part of football into a disposable consumer wank fest where people rather have quantity over quality and its blows peoples expectations way out of proportion.

Don't think the lack of signings is the end of the world, we got a very young settled side who are only going to progress, if Winks can stay fit i think he will be a revelation (more so) this year and i think Moura will be this year surprise player, not just for us, but in the league as a whole. But it would have been nice to have at least one new face to spice up things up.

Anyone who tries to defend the badly wee money grabbing rat now needs their head examined. He can come out with all the shit he wants now but at the end of the day the club, manager and supporters have all been let down once again by this miserly twat. Signings were needed and he had enough time to do it because he voted for an early closure of the window. Stick your excuses were the sun don't shine Levy you useless piece of shit.
I don't feel let down at all.

And who did we bring in this summer? Oh year fuckallinhio.

That’s not what you said tho mate. You can’t say we never look at unearthing young talent and conveniently forget about the ones we have. I’m as unhappy as the rest with this windows activity. Let’s however not ignore the business we’ve done previously to start a rant. We have ample excuses to do that now, without resorting to that.

Hardly useless. What ever way you look at it, the way we have progressed in the last decade under Levys stewardship is phenomenal. I trust in Poch, Levy and actually quiet like the middle finger approach torwards the transfer window.

We have almost 2 top players for each position, some perhaps more capable than extraordinary. If we cant add talent with the right fee then what we have done is correct. I would rather see a Winks come through than buy another Sissoko.

COYS!

Meh, I'm surprised and disappointed that there are no new players but.....
Seen a lot of shit in my lifetime and I would say this is the best squad in terms of depth / talent / potential
Would love this poor window to be the chance that the next Academy player grabs like Kane, Mason etc before...to me thats always a little bit more fulfilling than buying someone in.

Would love Danny and Toby situations to be sorted and them be back to their 2016/2017 form and I think Moura brings us some much needed trickiness that will hopefully be more evident now he has been here longer.

Looking forward to seeing them all in the new stadium too.

Disappointed not devastated

Lost in all this is our inability to shift deadwood whatsoever. I can somewhat understand not paying £35m for Grealish, but not even a youth prospect ffs? It stinks of gross incompetence.

Was Levy truly sitting on his arse for the past 3 months? A tell-all would be very helpful for us.

I feel a lot more calm about the whole situation after seeing Potch's press conference. Obviously I would have liked a player to elevate us from 3rd to the title, however the new stadium was always going to have a negative short term effect.

We have a strong Squad that is either equalling or beating the sum of its parts. I am confident this will be the case again with Lucas and Lamela coming on.

I really think (& hope) that the Chavs, man Us and Arsenals teams will be much less than the 'supposed' sum of their parts.

we'll see...
