Pochettino made his name at Southampton by bringing through (or at least bringing along) a whole host of talented young players who soon departed for Pool, Utd etc. With that in mind I’m hoping Winks, Onomah, Walker-Peters will have big/ break out seasons and someone like Skipp getting plenty of game time.

Amongst the more established players Lucas, Lamela, Toby, Rose, Wanyama (if fit) and Aurier all potentially have more to give than we got out of them last season.

In theory you could give a reasonable belief 75% of our squad could be better this season. There’s lots of players that are more experienced ,free of injury, had pre season , were below par last season. Obviously they won’t all be but if 4 or 5 are could make a massive difference for me.

Trippier- maintains WC form
Sanchez- Really imposes himself
Winks- injury free shows his class
Dele- Really shows top form
Moura- shows pre season form.

Bonus would be toby sorting situation. There’s a lot of possible improvement.

I do wonder if fate might have handed Edwards a chance at redemption.

Hard to tell it the damage is already done, and he may head abroad in the next couple of weeks, but if not maybe Poch could give him a chance to show what he can do.

I really hope it is Moura.

We need a player or two who can beat a player to help open defences.

Moura has that skilset. If he improves then our attacking options are a lot more balanced.

Think Winks will step up, certainly need him to.

No mentions of Amos yet. Looked pretty good in preseason so should get some cup time and push for the bench. Like most I think we need winks back to take dembeles slot and Moura to give the front 4 real competition so that we have an exciting option on the bench to mix things up

Optimistic Moura and KWP will be key players this season.

Hopeful Onomah and Foyth will become trusted members of the squad as it's likely they will be needed.

Rose and Winks, IF returning to full fitness, will be regular 1st teamers. Davies ain't good enough and Dembele and Vic appear to be oft-broken.

Moura and Lamela first off. Harry Winks is vital and Onomah has a fantastic opportunity to show he's worth keeping. KWP fully deserves a chance and Foyth also has masses of potential. Fingers crossed we don't lose anyone important before the European window closes.

Really hope that Onomah gets a chance in CM. We have a player in the ranks who can replace Dembele if coached right.

I'm going with

Moura - Will be the pacey counter demon we have been craving
Winks - needs to get past his injuries but will allow us to shift our mentality and be a deep lying playmaker
Onomah - Time to show he has the ability to step into the CM spot and make it his
Foyth - I think he will get the opportunity and be a revelation
Eriksen - weird one but I get the feeling this is the season he drops deep and becomes consistently world class and gives kdb a run for his money.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

This - we definitely lacked the ability to change a game at times last season.

My wildcard is going to be Trippier this season. If he’s on set piece duty, and delivers like he did in the World Cup, his stock is going to sky rocket. Personally I think he’s the one to watch for us this season.

I think we know which first team players NEED to come back from injury.

In terms of fringe youth players I would love to see Onomah, Walker-Peters, Carter-Vickers, Amos, Georgiou and Shashoua get some minutes and fill in when called upon. Obviously would like Edwards to have a crack at the whip but I'm sure he'll be off before the end of the summer from what's been circulated on here. Potentially Oakley-Booth, Roles and Skipp but I feel they're a little way off although they all play in the position we feel we're lacking options...

Fair play for mentioning Foyth! :)
