Its not. This is basically an U23 tournament with a few overage players aloud.Hmm. If it’s the same Japan as at the World Cup I can’t see S Korea beating them.

No. It’s the under-23 team playing here.
Ah ok, didn’t know that. Although, in that case, what is Son doing there?
I’m confused now .
EDIT : just seen above post. Strange set up.
It's the as the Olympic football rules, U23 with 3 overage players allowed per squad.Ah ok, didn’t know that. Although, in that case, what is Son doing there?

Are South Korea in the final?
I've just asked my gf (who's originally from SK) about this and she's just gone off into one, so thanks a bunch mate"DOKDO IS OURS!"
The law states it must be complete by 35, this is what I don't understand what the hoo har is aboutI believe you have to complete your military service by the age of 28. I think this would be his last season with us if he had to go, and then comes back to us at 29. This was meant to be his last chance, otherwise he would still have Olympics 2020 to participate.
Hopefully SK will have enough to win now, especially with the extra motivation they all have but I’m not convinced Son would’ve got called up anyway.
Could literally destroy South Korean football and sport in general to ruin their best athlete in history’s career in his prime, what kind of message would it send to anyone looking to develop South Korean talent and young Koreans themselves, it’s not the same as musicians.
Japan v Korea would be a proper feisty derby match. I lived in Korea for a couple years and they fucking revile the Japanese after the occupation. The country is covered in propaganda about the hotly disputed islands of Dokdo that the Japanese also claim and the kids are brainwashed into hating the Japanese from a young age. I had to sit through God knows how many student presentations on those islands and the "Japanese SCUM" that robbed them. They'd often end by shouting "DOKDO IS OURS!" and punching their fists in the air.
I get the impression theres a lot more hate on the Korean side, though, so this could work in their favour in the final provided they don't get too emotional.
Do you have a link to that? Because most reports are all over the place when it comes to nailing down the actual deadline. The law states it must be complete by 35, this is what I don't understand what the hoo har is about
