The songs will always be part of us and the clubs history. We have been a brand for a while now - just moving with the rest of them. I always find it fascinating though, how certain people can have a profound effect on you, without even knowing them. How I feel today is a little akin to losing a family member - Chas was one of us & was one of those, along with Dave Peacock who gave our club soul. Whenever I hear any C & D song in my head I'm thinking "Spurs". Loved them!Make no mistake, this is a big bit of Tottenham gone. Without people like chas and dave, the pubs on the high road (and the characters in them), the chicken shops, the away game regulars, we are just a brand.
I was gutted they diddnt play at the last game of whl and hoped they would open the new one. Shame.
The Billy Nick is still there...looks like when the police raid a pub and shut it down....although its always looked like that on non match days.Make no mistake, this is a big bit of Tottenham gone. Just told my old dear about Chas and she properly choked up...last she'd heard was he'd had cancer and was recovering, so it came as a real shock to her.
