A good win as far as I was able to deduce as I was not able to watch the match live.

Glad we beat that lot despite having made 10 changes from Monday!

I will give my MOTM opinion once I have watched the recording.

Foyth, easy MOTM. Saved us a number of times and generally looks very, very good. Must get more chances. He will need to bulk up, but he's very calm under pressure and a clever player.

I thought Foyth was excellent but did make a couple of mistakes in possession (expected with inexperience). Gazzinga pushed him for MOM and was brilliant in goal. On this form he should not only be ahead of Vorm in the pecking order, but has made a claim to start ahead of Lloris. Winks was good. And Son looked very sharp up top.

Incredibly mature performance from Foyth tonight. Showed real class on the ball, with a super turn of pace. Kept us in the game with a couple of superbly timed last ditch tackles. So comfortable on the ball and his physical development from last year is impressive.

Quite simply he has to play more in order to further develop.

Man of the match for me tonight by a mile.

We've hit the jakcpot with this signing.

Sissoko for his badass through ball to Georgie.
I don't care that it was offside.

Sanchez and Foyth were a rolls Royce pairing today. West ham put us under a lot of pressure at times and they just soaked it up. Foyth pips my motm.

Hopefully some cam see why @thinktank isn't bananas wanting Foyth in the cm. He takes the ball so well and goes forwards. Going to be one hell of a player imo.

Gazza looks tidy, some good distribution.

Alli looked Good in a deeper role. Son was electric on the counter.

Enjoyable match, some good end to end cup tie madness.

Gazza 7 - fine

KWP 6 - shaky start but settled into the game later on

Foyth 9 - mustard! Absolute class act

Sanchez 8 - decent display

Aurier 7 - not too shabby

Wanyama 5 - wasteful too often and off the pace

Winks 6 - not as dynamic as usual but tidy enough

Alli 6 - worked hard but didn’t look fit.

Eriksen 6 - gave the ball away too often first half and slowed us down quite often

Son 8 - a constant threat and took his goals well. Worked hard and looked knackered when asked to defend (although showed legs when attacking late on).

Llorente 6 - a few nice touches, a couple of headers won, and a good finish after showing decent strength for the goal. Still immobile

Subs

Sissoko 7 - tidy and strong when he came on

N’Koudou 6.5 - gave them something to think about with tired legs. Worked hard but lacked composure at times

Skipp - NET - difficult to not look like a headless chicken when coming on that late at 3-1.

Gazziniga 7 some good saves although looked a bit shaky at corners/in the air

KWP 6 good going forward but needs to be stronger defensively
Foyth 8 MOTM bossed it on the ball, without the ball
Sanchez 7 did well
Aurier 6 good going forward but rash at times defensively

Winks 8 good, neat on the ball
Wanyama 6 possible our worst player, rusty and slow

Son 8 took goals clinically
Eriksen 8 clearly our best player technically
Alli 7 did okay

Llorente 6 scored and did well for our first goal but off the pace of this level

Sissoko 7 solid
Skipp 7
Nkoudou 7 caused problems with his pace , a bit wasteful at times

Shout out to Sanchez playing 2 games in 48 hours, had a good game overall.
Foyth MOTM though, once he fills out a bit him and Sanchez could form a very nice partnership.

Good to see Dele back and Son looking a lot better, Sons season starts here. All this whinging last few weeks about the summer lack of transfers and Son, Dele and Eriksen have barely been able to get into a flow yet. Winks again showing he should be starting every single game for us.

Gazza - good but a little flappy
Aurier - ok
Kwp - had it tough today but never shirked and his control and passing was first class.
Foyth - what have we got here? Beautiful footballer, I want to see more
Davinson - great as usual.
Winks - first half great, second half good, he is so so important to us this season.
Wanyama - OK, but a shadow of his former self. Reminds me of both Sandro and Palacios who came back and were never the same.
Alli, Eriksen - ok
Llorente - gone, not got the legs for it
Son - when he plays like this he is such a threat.

Special bonus points for Sissoko's fake shot/through ball. Wow

Quite an enjoyable game, though west ham were a bit shit

On the ball the presence of quick thinkers and ambitious ballplayers meant our play was as fluid as it’s besn in a long time. Off the ball the lack of minutes in the players and match practice meant the press wasn’t great and we were pretty open.

Gazzaniga showed some great shot stopping, great alertness, but reluctance to leave his line put us in a spot of mother a few times.

Walker-Peters showed some pace, moments of skill and passed well overall, but he was a little too casual at times and struggled to stand up to physicality from Masuaku, Antonio and Arnautovic. Most of the attacks we conceded were down his side.

Foyth was excellent. Good passing out, great anticipation and awareness, constant good decision making and showed strength and pace. Motm, he was Ledley like.

Sanchez played well, strong, quick and alert.

Aurier didokay considering he was on his left side, passed well, got forward well and was generallygood in the tackle. Beaten one on one a couple of times.

Wanyama was patchy, some decent moments but overall dragged out of position, didn’t take great care of the ball and not solid enough as the defensive midfielder.

Winks played well, drove us forward nicely and moved the all quickly.

Son was very good, two nice finishes, constant energy and penetration, ran his heart out.

Eriksen played with vim, he seemed to like being back with Dele and Son while with Winks behind him he saw the ball in areas where he could hurt West Ham. Sharp, incisive passing and one good corner.

Dele has been sorely missed. Took responsibility, showed imagination, lovely subtle assist and always showed for the ball.

Llorente has some nice touches and held the ball well when he had it, but overall wasn’t really involved. Nice goal though.

Nkoudou showed flashes of skill but was careless and lacked end product.

Sissoko added physicality when we were under the cosh.

Skipp looked tigerish and the few times he had the ball, used it cleverly. I loved his hooked pass down the right. More attack minded than I expected him to be.

Based on tonight, fitness permitting I really want to see Dele, Eriksen and Winks v Wolves. I’d say Son too if he has the legs bit he might be shattered after playing all 90

Good for Foyth for backing his words up with a great performance today. A few more of these and Poch will find it harder and harder to keep him on the bench.

Tons of credit should go to Sanchez too for playing two matches in 48 hours. Hopefully we won't have to put him in that position again, he's a great young player and shouldn't be run into the ground.

Not really re Foyth. Yes, he passed the ball well with vigour and intent, but that (as Toby has shown) can be equally valuable from defence, while his pace, awareness and anticipation allowed him to give a masterclass in defending. He could be a good midfielder I’m sure, but much like Ledley I think he’s far better off become a great centre back.

Yep. Classic case of someone showing they've got technical ability so fans start to shove him further up the pitch automatically. There is a world of difference between having the game in front of you and being in the thick of midfield having to play 360 degrees and on the turn constantly.

Having players who can bring the ball out of defence are as crucial as any other position for our style of play. Leave him be at CB (as should have happened with Dier......) and lets hope he keeps developing, as he clearly has a lot of talent there to work with.

I enjoyed that overall. I really liked the line up when I saw it.

We started well and got the goal but after that west ham seemed to come into it and we got sloppy.

2nd half I thought we played some nice stuff and was pretty much in control of the game we did keep making silly errors and it nearly cost us if it wasn't for foyth , sanchez and gazzaniga.

It wasn't Wanyama best of games I didn't think.
He kept giving it away.

Foyth was great tonight. Some amazing challengws and good and calm on the ball aswell.

Sanchez great again.

Aurier looked out of place at times I thought pretty much from the start, you always get the same from him some good strong challenge's some silly fouls ,he does try hard and get forward well at times but does too much silly stuff

Winks played well. Hope he stays in team .

Son great finishing some great runs he done all the hard things well and when he gets easier chances to play a simple ball or cross he seems to mess it up? Good game tho.

Walker Peter's was very good aswell. Got forward well made some great touches and runs did make a couple of silly fouls but very good game

Llorente actually held it up quite well and made some nice short passes did die out but what a finish for his goal..

I love beating West Ham, especially twice. I like this team we had out today
