Nod to the actual best ref in the business in that game too. Barnes was outstanding. Not trying to steal the limelight or make it about him ( ahem Mr Owens )
He had a great game

NZ have been shakey recently but Ireland didn’t let up and deserved the win.

I could see the logic playing Mackenzie at 15 against England but in hindsight Ben Smith would’ve been the more sensible pick at 15 against Ireland.

That crowd though. They give them 5 points every game. If wales could play Ireland away with no Irish fans I’d be willing to give away 7 points before kick off.

Examples of Owens trying to make it about him, please.

They’re different refs obviously. I prefer my refs to let the game flow (Owens) compared to Refs who like to impose themselves on the game (Barnes)

Tbh, though he was quicker on the whistle when NZ were offside than he was when Ireland were he had one of his better games last night.

He missed that blatant yellow though which would have been crucial. Over all I thought he did well.

Kearney would’ve got yellow from a lot of other refs too so you could say he was being consistent.

Did the South African get a yellow for that? I didn’t think he did but I was kinda fast forwarding some of it.

Definite yellow in my book.

He got a yellow and the commentry team didn't like it. IMO he was nowhere near catching it and deserved the card, not least because the winger was in open space.

My view in Aviva last night, not feeling great today, 15 stout and 5 Sambucas doesn't help

So I’m assuming NZ are still, technically, number 1 or have Ireland just overtaken them?

I saw some headline where Hansen has apparently said Ireland are now favourites for the WC
