The players owe us

I want the players who failed to turn up at the Haemorrhoids Stadium to feel as if they really owe us a wonderful team performance on Wednesday night. Players always say how much they love playing for their managers and that's great as far as it goes, but I always feel a little short changed when I hear that. I want them to say how much they love playing for their fans. We are the most important part of what they do and get paid so well for so it's us, the paying punters they should be playing for. Managers, players and coaches come and go but we are always there in all weathers. I was gutted on Sunday more than anything else, because we failed to turn up and give those bastards a real game. I'm sure Poch has put fire in their belies for the game on Wednesday evening. They owe it to him and more importantly, they owe it to all of us.

I'm surprised how many people see it that the players didn't turn up. To me it was obvious that we looked completely exhausted and just didn't have the legs for it. I certainly saw no lack of effort or passion. Arsenal played well, and won the game because of a deflected goal.

The squad is decimated fitness wise because of the world cup and a litany of related muscle injuries, team selection is being dictated pretty much by physical condition.

I think what you'll more likely see on Wednesday is how the fans are in fact not there for the team, with a humiliatingly low attendance.

They showed how much we and the club mean to them against Chelsea. Then on top of that they had to show it again against a sitting back Inter Milan.

The Arsenal game came too soon for us but the reactions of players like Son, Dier and Dele showed it meant a lot to them, we just didn't have the legs for it.

But there was no hanger over or a glut of muscle injuries last year and yet we still performed similar to this time so what is the answer my friend.

The other team were better than us on the day maybe, that is football.

I've supported this team for near on 50 years...I wish I'd felt this bad about us losing one game..and being 5th in the league a few more times back in the old days...

Happy times.

Do you think they care? They just see it as another game. Only matters to us
I believe several Spurs sides have not cared in the past, but I will not have it that this group of players doesn't buy into the history and doesn't care. All this Arsenal game proves is that three MASSIVE games in eight days was a stretch too far physically, and when Poch also gets his tactics wrong, after two spot on games earlier in the week, we can be badly exploited.

The good thing about these cringe posts around this games is that when the cringe turns my skin inside out there's always another bout of cringe to reverse it.
