I’m guessing we’re in the port and sherry zone right now; the flotsam and jetsam of the festive period. What Shakespeare called the ‘unknown hours’

I hate that fucking chant. I cringe every time I hear our fans sing it, without exception.

Seriously, it can get right in the bin and stay there.
It should only be sung when we beat good teams handedly. Like we did to Madrid last season.

Also, we NEED an allez, allez, allez chant.

It only really makes sense against decent opposition! Calling utd shit when you are beating them by a few goals is banter. Calling Tranmere shit when we are 7-0 up is cheap, playground bully behaviour.

To me it never makes sense, I find it a very stupid thing to do. My point is if fans are going to insist on chanting it, then they might as well not discriminate their targets due to feeling like they are superior to the fans of other clubs just because of the league or the table position of said clubs.

Pochettinos words "in victory be humble, in defeat show dignity".
He was referring to the players.

Not sure why people get so upset about it, it's all tongue in cheek anyway.
To sing it to certain teams and not others, is just patronising the others.

Strange how the only fans who moan about it are our own fans, never once have I seen or heard this complaint from opposition fans...probably because they understand its just a bit of piss taking, and nothing more...and do exactly the same thing to other teams.

Or maybe it's just scraping the very, very bottom of the 'something to fucking whinge about' barrel, because there's literally nothing else left to whinge about.

That's basically my view on it. It's alright when it's a team that are supposed to be good but we're making them look shit by thrashing them, but when it's against a team that we're fully expected to beat then it's stupid because the whole "joke" behind it is completely lost. It's bad enough when we sing it against eg Bournemouth but When it's against a league 2 side it just makes us look really pathetic

Which is why I think it didn't get taken up and got stopped pretty much straight away.

More from the Trannys

Premiership clubs and players often made out to be arrogant, money central clowns. But Spurs showed a level of class i felt tonight. I think we must take last night for what it was. Great atmosphere albeit not sure why attendance so low. All round though i think Spurs showed a touch of quality about them. No real show boating...Son reciprocating the ovation he got. Poch has come out and said he brought Kane on to show Tranmere fans an English icon. Most papers talking about "thrashing" etc but Poch and Alli both saying how hard Tranmere made it first half. All in all, we take our money. We add some quality and go have a good second half of the season and see where it takes us. SWA

Hate the result, embarrassed by the result, but full respect spur and Poch. To bring on The England captain when there was no reason to do so, for me was a touch of class that not many others would do. I’ll be fully behind the winning the PL now.

I thought spurs treated the fa cup & Tranmere with respect last night, they could easily have thrown in the kids who would still have beat us, but to play the team they did was brilliant, as for the papers comments I take them with a pinch of salt, when my grandsons saw kane ali etc at pp their faces were a treat,

That last bit, really nice.

Really good reminder of the strengths of the FA Cup. With the extraordinary amounts of money in the game all talk is about CL money, building the brand and how much money is in winning the league.

But the simple joy of seeing top class players really gets lost. Fair play to Tranmere for seeing the bigger picture.

I think if the opposition fans are being wankers too, then our fans should have a bit more freedom to sing the "you're shit" song. If league 2 fans want to give it the big'un then they should expect our fans to put them in their place with that chant, if we're winning ofc

Fucking hell you lot can't half go on about something so trivial, 2 words and you're having a meltdown as if the fans are saying racist or homaphobic shit or something :ROFLMAO:.
