Although they said this week I would expect something this afternoon.

We have two homes match scheduled in just 3 weeks (Wed 30/01 and Sat 02/02) and no venue confirmed, they need to get info out ASAP not just for us but away fans and TV

The exact wording of the statement from Tottenham in December was -

"We shall receive a status report from our contractors in the week commencing 7 January 2019 and will update you thereafter."

With that in mind and no test events even booked in, i would say we can assume it will not be either of those two games

I'm assuming you didn't mean a panting rabbit, so that would be a hair's breadth. ;)

A pretty wide hair's breadth off opening for Liverpool. The width of an alarm cable, I think.

Dont tell me you are still pedaling the notion that we could have openend the new ground for Liverpool back on the 15th September, almost 4 months ago and counting!!

No way was the access back then anywhere near to being adequate to get 62k in and out

They did a great job

Worked on about 20 thousand of us I reckon, probably more

Go back and look at the stadium (building site) a few weeks before the 'opening'......

Or to sell inflated season tickets ?
Which they're refunding on a game-by-game basis? Add to that cost of renting Wembley and the rising costs of the stadium itself, and anyone can see the club has nothing to benefit from 'lying' to supporters about the opening date of the new stadium.

Apart from a handy £80m cash injection that they’ve drip refunded. Any business will benefit from that.

And the the 2 main cranes appear to be coming down.

If the plan was to play at wembley we'd have sold season tickets. We'd have had more people at games aswell as a lot of people took the cash rather than going to wembley.

Ok so give me a good reason why the club would lie about the opening going as far as to arrange test events and doing safety tests?
Did they sabotage the fire alarm systems on purpose to get out of opening?

The thing is when they sold the ST they only had 4 options.

1. Declare a whole season at Wembley which they probably didn’t as they hoped it would be ready at least by Xmas.

2. Sell some weird half/half ST which was probably not logistically possible.

3. Sell non ST at all and do it game by game which probably would have effected cash flow.

4. Do what they are doing meaning they got the lump sum cash in and gives the option to move when ready. Obviously this was the best option for them if not us.

Ok so why announce we are going to open v liverpool arrange test events and safety checks if they knew they were not going to open on that date?

My take on it was that they 'hoped' that they could open a few months into the season by throwing thousands of workers etc into the Project but they were told ages ago that there was absolutely no chance of the ground being open in 2018 due to the huge complexities of the build

Trying to sell us a 2 year Wembley move was always difficult and once the 1 year plan was agreed the whole narrative has been towards getting into the new ground asap

As time has gone on they have dug a bigger and bigger hole for themselves and have been chasing their tales and spinning us a longer and longer yarn

A project of this size has never been completed in this space of time.....

It never had to be completed. It just had to be safe to hold a football match. It failed because of the fire alam systems.

Much better than I could have put it
The clubs been hedging their bets in the best interests of the business not us the supporters

Unfortunately for them and most definitely us its probably gone on/is going on even longer than the club thought originally when the plan was hatched!
