I'm really surprised Llorente is starting. It basically rules out us playing on the break against a team that will seek to dominate possession.

I don't understand.
Precisely what I thought pre-game too. Oh well. All or nothing now.

I hope we have a very specific set of instructions for Llorente. No point him chasing shadows on the half way line, then trying to treacle upfield for an attack.

It's not even really about him, it's what everyone else is doing. To get anything out of him players have to be playing five yards off him - even being 15/20 yards away is pointless.

Sure they could have done (much) better and maybe haven't offered enough, but it's what we've had and in his and Janssen's case we've been achingly slow to adapt to what their strengths are and other players realising how to try and support them.

I'm torn on Llorente starting. On the one hand it means Lucas won't be completely isolated and we'll have an outball. With our vacuum of a midfield we'll never be able to control the middle against this Ajax side so it will give us another option.

On the other hand I'm worried they'll easily mark him out of the game and it will make us even easier to overrun in the middle.

In Poch I trust. COYS!

Come on, guys & gals.

I understand the nerves but the game hasn't even started yet & people are already starting negativity about Llorente.

I know he's not Kane or Son, but he's pretty much all we've got, CL football is more suited to his game & he has the experience of this sort of occasion that practically no outfield player in our squad has.

He could turn out being more vital than any of us realise right now.

25 pages and Dele hasn't tried to nutmeg anyone on the edge of our own area yet ... :peeking:

Sissoko to come on 85th minute and score a bicycle kick...

Not his style, he'll dispossess an Ajax player on our 18 yard line, run the length of the pitch and absolutely smash it into the back of the net, I'm guessing along with a new roof we'll need a new net for the goal
