What players?

How is it possible that some people still haven't cottoned on to the fact that we haven't bought a top player in years and all this talk of "attracting" players and "being able to pay better wages" is a complete nonsense - because the club has absolutely no intention of signing those players?

We've had the same message year after year about all the great players CL qualification will allow us to attract and pay for. We've qualified multiple times in a row and earned tens of millions through the tournament and we have bought the square route of fuck all - even after a World Cup in which most of our squad played, and with a squad which has had no refresh and no break from football whatsoever for TWO YEARS. Most of these players have played well over a hundred games in that time - they are physically and psychologically completely broken.

If we're not buying players under those circumstances what the hell makes you think things will change this summer?

Maybe we'll get that classic line about "facilities" and how players will "want to play in our new stadium" (like they give the slightest fuck) :ROFLMAO:
We already had the heads up that Champions League factors in to what we can and can't do come the window - ITK have inferred this already.

People might aswell forget about it all, it's one giant carrot on a stick - but a David Copperfield carrot on a stick.

1 goal in our last 5 games?. When we implode we don’t do it in half measures do we?
Going to be a very horrible and painful last couple of games. The players look physically and mentally shot to pieces.
Pochettino is even starting to look like he’s run out of ideas with this lot. The initial new stadium bounce has completely vanished and they look done.
No one to blame but ourselves.
Wholesale changes needed in the summer and maybe the next batch won’t be as Spursy as this lot.

They are young, professional players. They’re not knackered, they just lack the mental strength to see anything through. We lack real leaders on the pitch.

Utterly embarrassing. All those people who get bent out of shape at talk of “spursy”, soak it up, this is it in single-game form. Only we could do that today

Yeah sorry just desperate for the three points .

Yeah I know. It’s just all the Champions League stuff is all an unnecessary distraction. It is critical for us to get top 4.

It’s for financial sustainability - to not have a season in the champions league next year is absolute and total disaster. To pay off the stadium, to attract players to the club, to build the Tottenham brand - a modern day top European club simply needs Champions League football
You really think levy based the finances on the stadium on us getting champions league this season. Course he didn’t!! He knows that would be a huge huge gamble. To attract players, for the fans etc I agree but to pay off the stadium, it’s not a necessity.

Five losses in our last six with two tough games to come. Poch needs to see this team over the line, but if we go out against Ajax does anyone see a response against Everton?

As a fan, I can handle the disappointment of losing to Ajax in a CL SF. I don't think I can handle a loss or draw to Everton and being relegated to the Europa Cup.

Like I have always said we are not clinical and we don`t have enough creative players and are quite predictable. Alli and Eriksen deserve to be on the bench at the moment but we have few options even when everyone is fit. Europa League football next season would put the club back even further.

I think ITK have for some considerable time been fed lines by the club and its sources which bare little relation to reality. We haven't had ITK get anything correct in a long, long time. And that's fine, it's not their fault - it must be hard to deal in a currency which effectively doesn't exist.

Has there ever been a more depressed group of fans for a team that’s two goals away from a CL final? Nah. Fucking Tottenham.
We can’t score for shit and you think we’re going to beat Ajax away and score at least 2 goals. Get realistic.

Well, I think today's performance was awful. Agree to disagree.

To me it was more about the "attitude' than the performance. Those nine heroes very nearly put in the performance of a lifetime. Look at Dier...early yellow...does he calm down and think about the possible repercussions of going in gung ho ....no. Totally uncharacteristic reaction by Son who also showed unprofessionalism by allowing himself to be goaded. The worst however was Foyth....he must have realised why he was replacing Dier and then immediately throws himself into a tackle which demands action from the referee.

They showed a naivety beyond belief and total indifference regarding the fans and the club. They didn't just blow this chance...they almost deliberately threw it in the bin and didn't give a shit. Thus leaving just 9 to try and retrieve the situation....which they very nearly did.

I can neither condone, understand or accept the manner in which this match was addressed. Poch must also be at least partly responsible for this. I don't mind being let down, frustrated or disappointed by a bad performance but this was a downright insult for all the fans....particularly those that travelled today and still sang their hearts out.

Agreed. I cannot imagine another club screwing up in the way we have. And unfortunately it all comes from the top and lack of investment in the squad over a long period of time.

We have been paying for the stadium (I estimate £380m from July 2014 to June 2018) and I imagine the owners have had to be cautious during this period as running out of money for the construction is simply not an option. With the stadium now built we will have to see what direction the owners go in but if we don't see a change now then I think serous questions need to be asked and judging by Pochs recent comments, i think he feels the same.

Spot on sir any fan thinking that this is the summer will be left disappointed if they think there is some ear chest, there never has or will be and the same old bollocks calledcompany policy will be in place as it always is no title win's no nothing.

I understand the sentiment in this post, but look at Sunderland, Bolton, Leeds, etc for clubs that have really screwed up.

I am as disappointed right now, but our next two games are to get to a UEFA Champions League Final and to qualify for next year's Champions League by finishing third or fourth. Worse case scenario is we end up in the Europa Cup.

So despite my previous post the reality is there are fans of 85 other clubs who would love to be in our position.
