Are we bringing Anderton back as a first team coach?Looks like we are obviously signing him. He will learn well and become sick.

I'm very for this signing, but he did manage to get himself lumbered in the most ineffective XI of the season...

Oh - and Lyall Thomas is a London-based reporter. To the extent he claims to have sources, they are typically in West London (and sometimes he claims to have them in North London, but his Spurs accuracy has been poor). The MUFC beat reporters not getting this first is a strong indication of where this is coming from...Possibly just Fulham trying to set the table for the coming negotiations. Other reporters have said we aren't doing business until after the Final. Not *necessarily* panic time. Fulham have one marketable asset and about seven dead-weight busts. They just want every last penny they can get from Levy. Also--if the kid has any brains he'll look at the MUFC squad and see Alexis and Martial and Shaw under long-term contracts on the left side of the pitch and ask himself how he's going to get playing time. Regardless of the public-facing (and self-serving) statements of Woodward and Solsjkaer about buying young English talent. They are doing that as commercial cover domestically and to soothe the fan base, not because there's any real organizational commitment to develop talent there. Also, from what I understand, the kid wants to stay in London.
"Initial contact" is a meaningless sentence.

If he fancies himself as a left back eventually, I don't think Shaw is going to scare him.Possibly just Fulham trying to set the table for the coming negotiations. Agree but it’ll probably sink soon. Bidding wars are only effective when the real seller (Sessegnon) is open to the best financial short term offer, rather than the more nuanced long game. Utd are fucked in this scenarioThis is all posturing. We have clearly been talking to Sessegnon and Fulham for a couple of seasons. The player obviously wants to join us for clear reasons that have been constantly repeated in the press. It’s in Fulham’s interests to spark a bidding war though. So it might delay the deal longer than we all want.
Even if he wasn't good enough for the Prem yet, he was 17, how many 17 year olds shine at any level of professional football? Not many? Sessegnon was never going to tear apart Prem sides, but 8 goal contributions in one of the shittest teams I've ever seen at 17? You can't argue with that, that's very impressive.I had a look on a Fulham forum and they have quite mixed views on him. Some think he's great and deserves way more time given his age and goalscoring record, others think he was found out in the PL. I thought this post was a good, balanced summary:
"The extreme positivity and extreme negativity around Ryan Sessegnon is insane. He is probably not going to be as good as Ashley Cole, Raheem Steeling or Gareth Bale, but I think it’s likely that he will be significantly better than Ryan Bertrand, Danny Rose, Ashley Young and Stewart Dowling.
He is a good buy for a Champions League team looking for a good squad player for the next 12-15 years. I don’t think £30m buys much these days, and if Ryan Sessegnon would be worth more than that on a five year contract especiallly if that team felt he might extend his contract until 30+ years old."

He needs to join SC thenI’ve seen no proof he wants join us. Why did he sign a new contract then? He is either badly advised or a moron.
When did Sess sign a new contract?I’ve seen no proof he wants join us. Why did he sign a new contract then? He is either badly advised or a moron.

The fact Sky are the ones that have broken this news means it’s absolute bullshit.
