Would be a shame to miss out to an Europa League club
United to improve on their 40m initial offer apparently. Is he worth it? I'd go 50m for him, just walkers money with more years ahead of him.
United still being linked with Toby and Maguire. Not a bad defence...
De gea
AWB Maguire Toby Shaw
Wouldn't concede many...
They can have dier for 50mMight do if they don’t get the more defensive midfielders in front of them sorted.
But transfer price inflation will make this sort of comparison obsolete soon.
It's a tough one though. Ndombele, Lo Celso and AWB departs us of around £180m. Now I don't know what our intentions are or know how much we are willing to spend this summer but spending too much on one player may effect what we do elsewhere (ITK has repeatedly told us this). We'd likely still want the Sessegnon bros, another attacking option, a CB and maybe a DM. That could push our spending up close to £300m and we may not get anything close to that in returns.RB is our weakest area alongside CM imo and has been since Walker left. Opposition clearly targets the right of our defense every game. If we're willing to off our first and second choice RB it will be a shame if we don't get someone who can really do us a job (i.e. AWB)
If he goes for around 50m I'm sure we could nearly cash flow Aurier and Trippier for AWB. Isn't this the ambition Poch talked about?!?

Let's say Poch's priorities are, in order of importance CM - AM - FBs - CB (if Toby goes) - ATT, then we have to make a sacrifice on one of our primary targets in one of these positions and it certainly won't/shoudnt be CM/AM.

I hear what youre saying but I think Poch wants both and we don't necessarily need to spend 50-60 on AWB to achieve getting two dynamic full backs either side we could then become more rounded elsewhere too.I would be disappointed if we sell Trippier and Aurier and a starting RB doesn't take priority over the Sess twins, who are very unlikely to make our starting XI.
If we pay more than 30m for the Sess twins, and therefore miss out on a top class RB or CM, I think we're playing our cards wrong. Look how Liverpool did it, they bought players who they knew were going to get straight into their XI when they lost Coutinho.
For me order of importance should be CM - FB - ATT - CB
I'd get a world class CM (Ndombele), CM/AM playmaker (Ndombele), and RB (AWB) then worry about plugging the squad depth with cheaper players. It seems clear Poch wants to improve the starting XI, and if Eriksen, Toby, and Trippier leave, we need to replace them. Luckily we already have an amazing CB to replace Toby in Sanchez.
CM: Ndombele, Lo Celso (doubles as AM)
FB: AWB, S. Sess
ATT: Ryan Sess, (another forward if funds available [i.e. Clarke])
CB: Use dier, davies as squad options
Theoretically we should be able to sign Ndombele, Lo Celso, AWB, and Sess twins if we off Eriksen and our unwanted squad players if some of our reported targets are signed and reported outgoings occur:
IN:
Ndombele 65m
Lo Celso 65m
AWB 50m
Ryan Sessegnon 25m
Steven Sessegnon 5m
Clarke 10m
-220m
OUT:
TRIPS 30m
Janssen 10m
Nkoudou 5m
VORM FREE
Llorente FREE
DEMBELE (10M) - SOLD
Aurier 20m
Wanyama 15m
CCV (5m)
Onomah (5m)
Toby 25m
Eriksen 75m
+200m
I think your valuations of Trips, Janssen, Aurier, Wanyama, and even Eriksen are probably too high- I’d be surprised if we (a) sold this many players (b) at these prices (c) and replaced the baulk of them (d) in the very limited amount of time- approximately 8 weeks- left to do business.I would be disappointed if we sell Trippier and Aurier and a starting RB doesn't take priority over the Sess twins, who are very unlikely to make our starting XI.

Have no idea. Sorry, must have pressed by accidentBit confused, @GobbyJJ - what is it you disagree with about that statement?
They can have dier for 50m
Agreed. Heck, it might not even be the 3rd most expensive defender this window depending on what happens with de ligt, McGuire and koulibaly.
It’s trippier plus Aurier plus 20M. That’s a no brainer in my opinion. The best or 2nd best RB in the league who happens to be a 21 year old homegrown player.
At the very least, we should bid 50M just to screw with United.
No problem, old chap.Have no idea. Sorry, must have pressed by accident
