Come on everyone .

Christian Eriksen is the best player at the club by quite a bit .

We were so fortunate to land him when Modric left .

Dele is OK and more physical but he's not now and unlikely to ever be the sort of play maker Eriksen is .

Ericksen's departure was inevitable at some point in time but it's still a bit depressing :)

It's a short career and his departure probably has nothing to do with Tottenham's budget constraints stopping us reaching the very top level .

He wouldn't be the same player if we stopped him going so I for one will wish him well wherever he goes and look forward to watching him .

Eriksen can be outstanding and is a key player for us but his head was elsewhere since pretty much Christmas onwards. He did the same last time he signed a new contract... put in a chunk of poor performances, signed a new deal and then he started performing again. He’s served us well but if he doesn’t want to be here anymore then we can’t rely on him to turn up week in week out.

I know Eriksen has us by the balls a bit due to his contract situation, but we cannot sell him to a PL rival. It’s one thing selling Walker to City, but quite another selling our best player bar Kane.

Agree . Still sad though .

Landing a replacement who can soften the blow like Eriksen did when Modric left will not be easy .

Let's hope Poch gets lucky on that front .

Ultimately keeping Poch is the key for now with Poch eventually proposing potential successors to maintain and build on his legacy .

I just want to see quicker passing and more direct passing than a lot of the square slow build up's I see.
Yes we are great on the counter but I'm looking for more of a flow to the front and quicker that was supposed to be a hallmark of Bielsa footie.
Sorry if I'm counter to the views here but I'm looking forward to that through a CM who seems to push forward with his passing rather than circulate it

Understand Eriksen had a poor seasons by his standards last year. But the guy was just coming off a 3 year stretch was easily the second best creative force in the premier league. while running a quarter of a marathon a game, with the minimum creative support from his teammates and playing around 50 games a season.

These players arent robots, they cant just be expected to physically perform 100% of the time in non ideal condition. (our squad through injury and poor planning was way too undermanned.)

My opinion is Liverpool will be all over CE soon. He's exactly what they need to improve.

I would imagine our chairman may bump up the price tag for anyone in England. Having said that and thought about what you wrote perhaps you are right. One could only imagine there are two teams that CE would want to leave us to go to in England. Liverpool is certainly one of them.

I'll have mixed feelings if he does sign a new contract. He's obviously a brilliant player and we would continue to benefit from that. But I don't like the lack of commitment he's showing and I don't think he truly wants to be here anymore even if he signs on. It all feels like we're just a fall back option.

I don't really know what more he wants as long as we sign some players. We're a big club now and not sure there's even another step to make really. It's different now from when Bale, Berbatov, Keane and even when Walker wanted to go.

With players like Eriksen, I think it could take him a move to really realise what he's a part of here. I can't see any other top team signing him now and guaranteeing that he would be the fulcrum of the team. Certainly not Barcelona or Madrid. I think he's dreaming a far different world to the reality he would almost certainly experience.

Be careful what you wish for. Eriksen has been a huge part of why we are the team we are.

These players linked all look the part but in reality there's a chance they might flop.

For me best case scenario is keeping Eriksen, new contract. And we sign somebody to really push him, he's never had that here.

No i'd be happy if he signed but at the same time I don't like his lack of commitment. I agree ideally we'd bring in GLC as well but I just can't see Ndombele, GLC and Eriksen all here by August.

Madrid might eat him up but you can't really blame him for trying. We're up there now but he's still won nothing in his time with us so far :( if he doesn't go then I'm more than happy if he signs a new contract.

One or two of us on here were saying months ago that Madrid wouldn't buy him, for me he's sulking.

Poch values commitment over anything else and it seems Eriksen has pained himself into a corner. No idea what happens next but I'd guess a half-hearted season and a free transfer next season which is our worst case scenario.

Football fans are unforgiving, he really needs to prove his worth if he stays or the knives will be out.

Said a few times on here... Great player, but his heart has not been in it for us this season.

And that’s not good enough for us, if he’s not 100% with Spurs he needs to go.

If he is, brilliant.

I think a few of them have had bad seasons really and come towards the end of the season a lot of them needed the summer break and Eriksen was one of them! Eriksen has come up with some crucial goals and assists for us this season, If Madrid come calling and he goes then good luck to him! He was not the only one in the final not to turn in a good performance
