I dont understand why WBA didn't play him more if he's meant to be so good.
I think he wants to move on, to bigger things perhaps.

It would certainly benefit this thread if it was Aarons. With all the guesses going on in regard to the 'mystery' player yet to be named, could be a contender to perhaps the first/only cryptic of this transfer window.
Would love it to be Aarons, though.
Thanks for that comprehensive scouting report... Yeah you probably right. I did think of the contract ending but also considered the drawn out process of going to a tribunal to work out a compensation. So was clinging to the hope we were going the route of negotiating on good faith with his club VS knicking him on the cheap.
Edit. Now I really hope we interested after giving the report a second read. First saw a article on us linked in early April I think.
When signing young players like this it's often best to try and settle outside of tribunal, so could still apply.
We'd likely still negotiate with the club, as there would be an unknown compensation fee and add ons, and I don't think Levy likes to operate on unknowns. Not if it can be avoided.
When Danny Ings was out of contract at Burnley, we made a bid to the club.
Liverpool ended up taking him without knowing the fee for 9 months, which ended up being £8m, I believe in one payment, and 20% profit sell on clause.
That was 2015 money, though on the other hand Ings was an established PL player, so hard to gauge the compensation fee for Harper.
But you'd have to expect Levy will want to have it fixed, budgeted for, and control the payment terms and clauses.
Love that, gooner melts haven't got a scoobyThe same West Brom that didn't play Serge Gnabry (on loan from Arsenal) who just won player of the season at Bayern. Probably doing it to be salty at him not signing a new contract.

Haivertz I think or aarons as we are in his thread!
I’m guessing it is the centre half from Monaco, Benoit Badiashile.Herc's comment on 'waiting until the name is out there' makes me think it's not Aarons but someone we've not been linked with yet.

Aarons has been promoted from number 37 to number 2 for Norwich this season.
Wonder if means he’s more likely to stay?
But has his number gone higher or lower?
I really want Aarons, but having him as first choice next season would be concerning. He’s 19 and never played a minute of Prem football let alone CL.
It is the game...Palace linked with a £10m bid in The Mirror, if true that's a bit fresh considering how pissy they've been about Arsenal lowballing.
It is the game...
Buying club: Ask for a player
Selling club: Ask for a large amount
Buying club: Bid well below that amount
Selling club: Be publically "appalled" at the bid
Rinse and repeat.
It's why when people on here start throwing tantrums when stories about Levy bidding 40m euros for NDombele or Lo Celso I roll my eyes.
