As long as eriksen signs a new contract.

Would be ideal but RM know he wants to go there and they can have him for free in 12 months. He did say he'd sign a new contract if he didn't get his move so we'll just have to hope he's as good as his word and that the fans don't turn on him.

He actually said "staying at spurs would not be a negative". Didn't say he'd sign a new contract. He might have just meant he'd see it out.

Hopefully he does sign. Although i really doubt it. He'd get a huge signing on fee and wage next summer.

Edit missed an interview with him.

It isn't if you spread that over two summers though. We didn't spend a thing last transfer window, and surely we didn't only have 35m to spend in each? We were after de Jong so there was 70m or so available last window too. It all adds up

The sums of money in each of the windows could have been the same pot, not necessarily an addition to the first amount in the second. So, it might have been wheelbarrow 1 all along, not wheelbarrow 1 + wheelbarrow 2 = wheelbarrow 3.

Pretty sure he also said he would sit down and try to negotiate a new deal

Edit here is the quote

"It all depends on Daniel Levy and there has to be another club too. Or I will sit down myself at the table and negotiate a new contract. You can’t set a date yourself. There aren’t many boxes that Tottenham don’t tick so if I have to move away, it would have to be a step up."

At this point I just want Eriksen to go and us get a quality replacement like Ceballos. I just don't see how Eriksen rediscovers his form if the move fails this summer.
I don't want Eriksen to go but if he's not signing a new contract we have to cash in.

You only have to look at the mess Arsenal are in financially due to losing key assets for nothing.

But do we really see Lo Celso coming in if Eriksen stays?

Yes, because he's equally happy, maybe moreso, playing in CM, but he also has the ability to play at 10. He'd be a fantastic option in both positions and would open up all sorts of rotation options as well as tactical changes during matches.

I still don't understand the thinking behind this. If he goes on loan with an option to buy then surely the agent would still get a percentage as they've arranged the deal? If it's a loan without the option to buy then he's risking his next move just because he wants to change agents.
Isn’t it as simple as the permanent deal is signed after the management contract expires?

IMO LoCelso and Ceballos is a bit of overkill and between the 2 of them I'd rather get LoCelso. If we keep Eriksen and don't get Ceballos I'm cool with that.

This is exactly the point though isn't it? One is to add, the other to replace.

No way do we end up with all three IMO

We’re going to see it more and more, can’t make someone sign a contract.

Eriksen will be a pro and knuckle down if he stays and he's hardly been negative about the club to him a step up is RM not UTD a compliment in itself.

Think he'll be a pro but doubt he'll sign a new contract.
He could get a £50m signing on fee next summer. Probably more than he's earned in his entire career so far and a big contract.

IMO Ceballos is an opportunity to get a bit more value for money than any cash deal RM would come up with. Ceballos is surplus to their requirements and they've had a massive money splurge already. We'd get a very good young player and they could hang onto some cash, but I still think Ceballos is overkill if (as I expect) we get LoCelso in as well. He would however undoubtedly shoot up in value IMO so I can see the attraction for Levy if the financials stack up.
